I've been wanting one so I can preserve my p89...guess there's always the used market. There's a few on some of my Facebook groups now but they're all too far away.
maybe i'll get bashed for saying this, but its about time. its was one of those guns that was just "meh".. felt like a brick, was as big as a house.... the SR9 is a much better platform (imo).
I noticed it was taken down too when I saw a new one at the gun shop a few days ago for $349 and I went online to see how much Ruger priced them at. There is still NIB stock out there, so I'm sure they will sell until they're gone. They were good, solid pistols but were probably taking away from SR9 sales.
Thats a real shame. The P series Ruger pistol has been a mainstay for the Ruger company for many years. It has proven itself to be one of the best autoloaders ever built. Rugers slogan of "Rugged, Reliable Firearms" was exactly the description of the P series. I was considering selling one of my P95s, but it just moved to collector status in my opinion. I have one thats unfired.
It almost makes you feel even older. Bought a P95DC when they first came out. Paid $234.99 out the door. Have no idea how many rounds she's had. Never a hiccup. Guess I need to at least pickup a few more spare parts.
I guess a plain reliable gun is not wanted anymore.
They have to have a magazine disconnect, loaded chamber indicator, and have an internal lock, plus striker fired like Glock. Maybe for California? Wait why buy a Ruger when you can buy a Glock?
Glad I bought mine a while back to have something to shoot 9m since I would not have a striker fired gun stuck up my a$$.
I just can't get a warm, fuzzy feeling about striker fired pistolas?
Both of my 9mm autos are da/sa guns ( S&w 910 - Ruger p95) and great shooters.
Think ruger might goofed on this???
