Looks to me like a pretty nice entry into the polymer frame 45 acp market. What does everyone think?

I think we need a little time to shoot it first. I am waiting to hear some opinions and will then patiently wait for a compact version!

Ruger Redhawk will become famous soon enough
Owning a couple 1911's, a G30 and other 45's this does nothing for me. I just can't get excited with any of the Ruger SR series.

While the SR45 is somewhere on my wish list, a full size polymer 45 just isn't that unique, there are so many competitors. The market seems to be all about concealable guns right now.

I think it will be a great gun, it just doesn't stand out from the pack in my opinion to get much buzz.

Agreed. Plus the SR45 in particular just looks kinda ... well, ugly ... to me. *shrugs*

I'm glad that they've released the SR45, but I own a 1911 and have an SR9 that I love. I hope to get one someday, but have many other guns on my "Really Want" list before the SR45.

I agree 100%! If they made an SR45c that would put the .45 into something CCW friendly I would be much more apt to buy it.

Have you checked out the XDS? I love mine. It's my only non-Ruger handgun.

Love the SR series, if this would have come out before the SR1911.......maybe, but i have the SR1911 now, so not much interested in the SR45.

I'm all-in on the SR45. I have a couple of 9's and a 40, no 45. Wasn't really going to pursue one but I like the SR series. At first I was going to get an SR9 but opted for the XDm 5.25 instead; then I was thinking about adding the SR40. This has done it for me though, SR45 it will be, after I let them work out the bugs.

I cannot get excited about any new semi-auto handguns until this gun ban mess is sorted out.
Feinstein's bill targets most semi-auto handguns right along with the "assault rifles" she hates so much.
I don't want to buy anything else that may be confiscated or require registration as an NFA firearm and a $200 fee.

I want to want one and the 45AP is one of my fave rounds. But, what can it do my SR40 can't? I already have a P345 and the wife has a 1911. So I guess I''ll opt out. And to those that don't like SR's, your loss.
