I went through something similar to this earlier in the summer, but in the opposite direction. I had a Glock 17 that I wanted to trade for a CZ75 SP-01. I know, I know, not EVEN the same, but I can tell you why I got rid of my Glock and maybe that will help you.
In a word: Ergonomics.
I bought my Glock on 12/26/11. I got gift cards to the gun shop for Christmas and they had a 10% sale the day after Christmas and after the discount and my gift cards, I walked out with a Glock 17 for around $50 to me. Anyway, I shot the fool out of that gun until about June of this year. I gave it 6 months and 2500 rounds. I swapped out the springs with a Ghost Ultimate Kit, added TruGlo TFO Sights, and swapped the guide rod to a stainless one. In 2500 rounds, I can count on one hand the number of FTF/FTEs I had. If I recall correctly, it was 3. At 25 yards, I could do some damage on tangerines and soda cans efficiently and consistently.
However, I never could quite get a grip on the gun. Shooting 250 rounds at a time would get tiring very quickly. My wrist and hand would definitely get very fatigued. This doesn't happen with my CZ75 SP-01. Not even a little bit. For some reason, the Glock just never fit right. I tried grip sleeves and they didn't help. Part of the problem for me was that the grip was a little too fat front to back and not fat enough side to side. I would have liked a reversible or changeable back strap and changeable side grip panels, both of which are not available on the Gen 3. I believe the Gen 4 has a changeable back strap, which is a bonus (but I've read horror stories about the recoil system in them, so be careful on that trade-off). Felt recoil is significantly higher on the Glock than the CZ, but probably because the CZ is solid metal and the Glock is mostly plastic. Also, the recoil on the Glock sort of goes up and back. There's quite a bit of muzzle flip. As a SD gun, this probably isn't an issue. For target-shooting, it might be. I was able to wrangle it back in fairly quickly with practice, but I still find that reacquiring the target is easier with the heavier gun.
Another Pro for the Glocks is their ease of maintenance. You can literally strip a Glock down to the pins and springs with just a single punch. It's probably the easiest, cleanest breakdown I've ever seen in any gun. Mr. Glock created a monster in that he made modifying the Glock one of the easiest things for even a novice gun owner to do. There are a million aftermarket parts for them and if you own the Gen 3, you can swap those parts to just about all of the guns. I mean, how cool would it be to own a G17 with its 17-round magazines and be able to pop those in a G26 or G19 for a little extended range time?
I've shot my cousin's SR9c and I love it. For me, it's far more comfortable than the Glock. If you want customization, go with the Glock. I think side-by-side, the SR9c and Glock 19 are close. I find the ergonomics on the Glock are a deal-breaker for me. Otherwise, they're one of the most perfect firearms you could ever purchase. If I were looking to buy a gun that I could use in sand, snow, mud and rain, it would be a Glock. You could build a damn bridge using the Glock as a hammer and then shoot anyone that tried to cross it. Run it over with a truck, or use it to keep a truck from rolling out of your driveway and then pick it up and put it back in your pocket. It'll fire. For target shooting and extended range use, the Glock is not my first choice and I parted ways with it because for my uses, I wanted something more comfortable for me to shoot. I'd own another one, though and have considered a G26 as a nightstand gun.
You can't go wrong with the G19. Just handle it extensively. I, like you was impatient as the G17 was my first 9mm. I jumped the gun (pardon the pun) and bought it without really handling it and without ever having shot it. I didn't lose money on the sale because I didn't have anything in it, thanks to my family, but consider the loss you'll take selling a used gun. A gun that sells new for $500, will sell used for probably 20% less than that. You're going to lose $100 on the transaction, easy. Even more if you trade.

I've really warmed up to it! | Good news! When I was close to your age, I bought a Colt Detective Special, one of the last versions produced (1996?). I got nervous about having it and sold it several months later without ever firing it. Now that I'm older and wiser I deeply regret having done that. That Colt would probably be worth more now then I paid for it then.
Nothing wrong with selling a gun if you truly hate it or are seriously cash strapped, but don't do it just because you want a new toy.
You won't regret it, trust me!

Good choice! Pretty soon you'll have 2 guns instead of 1 had you sold it.

Either way I'm working on getting a second job, extra money is always good.

Everuyone has their own preference. I like Glocks a lot; just not enough to buy one. They aren't my cup of tea. I'd never trade my full size Beretta for a Glock - never. My buddy will own NOTHING other than a Glock...until he found the Kimber Pro carry he just bought.
There are LOTS of nice handguns. There are so many manufacurers becaus eveyone doesn't like the same thing. Choice is a very cool thing. I like my Ruger very much. I must have tried a dozen compact pistols before choosing it. No regrets at all.

I have been in a similar situation. I felt my Sr9c was to heavy to carry. I have tried different belts, pants one size larger, holsters...the whole 9 yards. I took my 9c to a LGS along with the holsters and a 12ga pump I have. The most I could get was $400 and they would have gone towards a Kahr PM9. Truth be told I was looking for a lighter CCW. More so a LC9 or a LCR .38. I thought it rather odd that this particular dealer didn't have any of these (or bother to show them to me) and directed be to the "used $465.00" Kahr. In my heart I couldn't let the SR9c go. I thought I had to find a way to make it work.
So what I have done is to carry my 9c every chance I get, even in the house. I carry IWB tuckable with a N8 Tactical (N82tactical.com) and OWB (Fobus paddle). I have been wearing my normal size pants (usually jeans) Tru-Spec cargo pants with the elastic waist band. The more I wear the gun and holsters ( and that's whereever I can go with them legally) the better it feels.
So I am going to save my money for a smaller CCW for warmer weather carry. As one poster stated this is two guns in one, depending on the magazine you use.

I am not a fan of Glocks for several reasons, but people should buy what they themselves favor. I personally would not ask anyone else which I should own, as that is a personal choice.
We are fortunate that there are many brands and models to select from.

As FrankCR said, go with what you're comfortable with, but it sounds like you are pretty comfortable with the SR9c. I use an OWB leather holster from Winthrop for my SR9c and my SR40c. If you're having troubles carrying it comfortably, check them out. Here's a link through Amazon.com. Amazon.com: Ruger Sr9-c OWB w/o bodyshield Holster Black: Sports & Outdoors |

I say get the gun you want and to heck with other opinions. I love my SR9c, but if I had to choose again, I would get a carry gun with a double action trigger. Just my preference.

I wanted a G19, but ended up getting an SR9, instead. I'm glad I did. I like the feel much better.
Honestly, if you like the SR9c, you'd be better off getting an SR9 than a G19.
Reason being, familiarity of operation. The SR9 is going to operate just like your SR9c.
A Glock will not feel, shoot, or operate the same.

A Glock will not feel, shoot, or operate the same. | Good advice, but only if you're talking about a new SR9. The early ones weren't as good as the SR9c.
