I had my name on 3 different gun shops and whoever got one first got my money. When I got one called the others to have my name taken off their lists. As far as I know the other shops still haven't gotten 1.

My local hardware store/ LGS finally got in 3 this past Wednesday. They advised me the day before of the pending arrival. I now own one and took it to the range this morning. It is all that it was supposed to be. I can't get the smile off my face.

There are reports almost daily here with regards to folk receiving their long awaited SR 1911's or increased sightings.
Months back, there was not.

Kinda like the Joker (Jack Nicholson version) only in a good way!

I don't know if production is catching up, but I finally won one off Gunbroker and for a decent price! $685, I have been outbid 6 different times, and have been looking since July. Should be here by the end of the week.

The SR1911 is a "must have" type of pistol. No gun collection is complete without it. It is well built and reliable. Ruger produces a 1911 that offers the attributes of expensive high end models at an affordable price. I had been waiting to buy one for some time and finally, opportunity crossed my path. To my surprise, I found a used one in "Like new condition" at a local gun store for less than $600.00 !!! I placed it on layaway on the spot and plan to pick it up this week. I will post photos as soon as I get it.

Got mine yesterday for $579 plus tax. I'll post pix when I figure out how. Had it on B/O since 4/07/12. I could wait @ this price. Can't wait to try it next weekend.

Have always been in stock up here.
I got mine in May of 2011.
I visit our LGS about every 6 to 8 weeks and they have always had 1 or 2 on hand.
