One million sold as of august 15

According to CNBC web site Ruger President and CEO Mike Fifer said 1 million Ruger Guns have been sold (this year) as of August 15.

CNBC also said S&W is having an excellent year.

Can you imagine the gun sales over the holidays? and the hunting season has just started.

I also own several Rugers but I feel this push to produce record numbers is hurting Ruger's quality control. Seems a lot of the recent Rugers are leaving the factory with flaws that require them to be sent back

I don't think it is so much a push to produce record numbers as it is a push to try and keep up with record demand.

Ruger is just trying to keep up with demand, which seems to have no limit due to the current occupant of the White House. No well-managed manufacturing company just produces things to make some type of record.

As far as the problems, it's going to seem exacerbated due to the interwebs. Very few people report something with no problems.

Gee. I wonder why half of the guns people are buying have crooked sights, won't properly fit a cartridge in the chamber, have rust on them out of the box, etc. etc. etc....... I'm glad all of my Rugers were made between the 50's and 70's. There's something wrong in Mayberry Barnie.....
