I'll have to agree with some posters that production push is hurting quality. The internet exposure of today may make it seem more extreme than it is, but there are more going back with problems, and that's percentage wise.
Local big box clerks I know and LGS people say they are seeing a lot more problems on all brands.
It's a Catch 22 for firearms manufacturers. Do they up production only to the limit of their standard QC, and make customers upset with long delivery waits? Or, do they push QC as well and cross their fingers on not getting a flood of returns?
I think even better is to increase production, and increase QC to match or exceed the need. I would think high sales would make that affordable, but the companies apparently aren't considering that.

I bought an LC9 for my wife late July. She later wanted something with less kick, so she got a Sig 380 and I inherited the LC9. Thinking about an LCR for one of the Daughters who now works midtown at nights.

Quality issues no matter the product works on the law of averages. Sad but true! I work for a major manufacturer and have worked for others. It seem that the "AVERAGE" defect rate in most industries is less than 1 percent. That doesn't sound like much but when you have a high volume business the defective return numbers higher on a unit basis. I would bet that Ruger has about a 1% or less Defective Return rate. Though that is merely a guess. I guess what I am trying to say is that I have, and will continue to buy their product with confidence. If it's a lemon I'm betting that they would make it good in the interest of customer relations.

I personally think many companies that have HIGH demand for their products SHOULD make sure EVERYTHING is right before releasing to the general population, especially when it comes to firearm safety concerns.

I've bought four Ruger's this year myself and they are all perfect. Accurate and reliable. Beautiful guns.

Can you imagine the gun sales over the holidays? and the hunting season has just started. | As a local gun store told me when I was in a line with 15 people looking at handguns, "It's amazing what happens when freedom breaks out or is threatened."
Mostly, it's our local police now issuing CCW permits for "personal defense". That's the only reason we need - FINALLY!

Did my part, my KP95D came back made in January. So far I've had no problems with it, Same as with my Ruger single actions and mini-14.
Never met a Ruger I didn't like.
God Bless
