I've put a lot of work into mine, not the least of which was installing the RTK short stroke trigger and smoothing out the striker notch on the firing pin. The trigger is still heavy and long but a lot better than it was out of the box. I've got well over 1200 rounds through it and it's a very reliable pistol so I trust it 100% for CCW. At this point (as of today) if something catastrophic happened to the pistol I would replace it with another LC9 and redo everything I did as far as the mods I've performed on my original one.
But having said that I have an eager eye on the Springfield XDs. If they put out a 9mm or .40 version and it gets as good of reviews as the .45 is getting I would be very tempted to try it out. Hell even the .45 version is very tempting though I would prefer to have it in 9mm and get a 1 (or maybe 2) more round capacity in the same form factor.

I was responding to someone's question. And, you stated in posted 71 that you didn't like the SR9c. I simply asked you what you didn't like about it.

I have never owned one but my daughter bought one a couple of months ago and I have fired it several times.
In short, my opinion is the LC9 sucks. The trigger is beyond awful and the front sight was loose out of the box. I realize this is intended to be a carry/backup pistol and the front sight can be fixed, but after the issues I've seen with that gun, no way I would buy one for even $20.
I'm fond of Rugers, but this is one they just screwed up from the word go.
At the last gun show, she was able to swap the LC9 and $40 for a gen 4 G26 with 4 mags and a holster. I think she got a great deal on the trade and as far as I'm concerned, good riddance.
When the discussion of any gun is comprised on mostly who has available aftermarket parts to make the trigger bearable and many stories of poorer than poor quality control on these I can't imagine this gun is going to be in it's present form for long. I bet there will be a version 2, or the pistol will be discontinued altogether.
In my opinion, Ruger blew it on this one.

In my opinion, Ruger blew it on this one. | I have done all the trigger work to mine and did alot to get the sights as they should be but the light strike issue still had me hesitant on if it was going to perform when needed. My latest issue came when I decided to give it a light rub down with Hoppe lubricating oil and weather guard. since I was carrying it IWB I was worried about body sweat getting to it. Well the oil took the bluing off the side of the slide near the barrel were it had not contact with my skin .
I went out and spent good money and bought the Sig P938 extreme out of the box I was hitting the bottom of a pop can at 20-30 yards. The trigger is SOOOO MUCH better also. So far I have about 250 rounds through it and NOT ONE light strike. Sure I could have gotten two LC9s for the price of the sig but if the two LC9s don't fire when needed then I could have just as well bought rocks.
If Ruger doesn't send me a new slide then I will just strip this one and polish it. I will keep working on the light strike issues and maybe find some real sights for it also and keep it in the cabinet.

I've heard that the trigger is kind of a pain and a little hard to get used to... I want the SR9c instead. Clearly bigger but it sounds like a better carry choice for me.

I would definitely buy one again. I haven't had the issues that some have had and I practice alot doing drills so I dont have concentration issues with aiming. Its all about preference and comfortability. If you do not like the pistol then you shouldnt carry it. There are lots of great compact 9's out there, I just prefer the LC9 myself.

Yes, I would get the LC9 again. 750 trouble free rounds. I keep it stock without trigger mods. It's a perfect size and weight for my carry style. I also carry the Beretta Nano 9 mm but decided I still would not give up my LC9.

i don't understand why shooters are comparing the lc9 trigger pull to other than double action only guns. the trigger pull is the nature of the beast. i have an lcp with a way long trigger pull but i bought it for its size and the inherent safety [at least in my mind] of double action only. what other double action only pistol the same size as the lc9 is a better value?

Maybe... for the price it is a pretty good gun and I like the size for carry. I am small framed and a large gun does not carry well for me. As far as shooting goes I really hate the trigger pull. I have not had any issues with the gun at all. I am currently looking to buy a M&P Shield which might replace my LC9 or I may just pop for the Sig P938. I love shooting my Sig P239 but it is not as easy to carry as the LC9. Sig just makes nice guns even though I have quite a few Rugers. Not sure I want to put money into the Gallaway Trigger or not. Would love to shoot an LC9 that had the work done.
