| LCP back to Ruger for slide peening
373 prefix, 672 rounds, in the process of packing it up, I have the prepaid label from UPS already. Nice lady said it would be 7 -10 days before I get it back.
One would think that at 600 or so rounds the pistol would be getting broken in, not broke. I'll go broke certifying the pistol with $175 @ 500 rounds for carry
Or $350 in ammo to certify a $260 pistol twice.
Now to type up the letter to ship with it.

Even considering that, 7-10 days is an outstanding turn-around time.

Now to type up the letter to ship with it. | I got rid of my LCP due to premature wear and multiple failures to do just about everything a pistol should do. I did give it a sporting chance though with two turn around trips back & fourth to Ruger, the second resulted in a total replacement, still the LCP ultimately failed. I certainly would never trust it as a CCW! Let's see, $350+260= $610, that could get you a real sidearm like a Glock, FNH or even a Sig!

Dozer02 not trying to call you out but do you even like Rugers I mean I could be wrong but all I seem to see from you is down talking Ruger and talking up other brands which is fine but I am just curious if you still own any or even like the company.
Sorry if that came off rude again just wondering.

I have a 10/22, and a SR-22P in addition to the LCP, I was thinking of a LC9.
The front sight fell off my 10/22 while plinking. I was using the scope and thought I was stepping on a sharp rock, it was the sight.
I have a Glock, a Bersa, and the pistol ElsiePea was copied off. Ironically, I picked up the P3AT just a few hours before I noticed the peening issue.
Elsie will be in Prescott on the 10th according to the UPS tracking, that's 4 days already.
The bad news is I sell every gun that has to go back for repair, I simply will not spend another $150 in range and SD ammo to prove out a gun I paid $260 for.
The LCP failed after only 672 rounds, I shoot that much at a weekend class with my Glock, the Ruger wouldn't have made it through.
I'm putting off the LC9 purchase until I see how the SR-22P performs. If it too has to go in, Ruger will no longer be on my "Buy" list.
I'll pick up used older ones though, just not their new tupperware offering's

I have an LCP, I added the CT laser guard to it, that I use for CC during those hot summer days while wearing a t-shirt. It serves that purpose really well but, it's not the type gun you take to the range to pound hundreds of rounds through. You said something about "qualifying" with it, are you LE? I can't imagine qualifying for anything using an LCP, it's a close up, in your ace, point & shoot gun & that's all. |
