Even used at that price I would still buy it. I would want to take it apart and do a complete inspection before buying.

I finally got to see and handle the mythical SR1911 at the Kittery Trading Post. Truthfully I was quite impressed with the feel, fit and finish. I thought the grips were classy looking and overall it is on the gotta have list. It was priced at $669 there.

Thats not bad for a used gun, depends on how much wear and how many rounds went thru it then examine the gun see if any cracks.

Although I ended up spending $699.00 + tax at Riverview when I finally got my SR1911, I missed out on their special 4th of July weekend at $599.00. They seem to have them consistently and the one I bought had just come in with their new order three weeks after I had missed their special.
This was my second Ruger( the 1st a GP141) from Riverview( East Windsor, Ct.06088).
That Gp was the cheapest price I could find at the time. Very knowledgeable & friendly people.

Deacon07 you are right, Riverview good guys to deal with. I had one on order at
my LGS they never even seen one. Then Ruger stoped taken orders. Well after
all my internet searching and trying to find a good price. A member here on the forum
posted a Riverviews flyer SR1911 $599.00 I got on the phone as fast as i could.
my call took place June 29 and I had my brand new SR1911 in my hands July 3
So yes I would say they are good guys to deal with and they said they get in all
the time but they don't last long you have to be quick.

My LGS has been selling them at $599.99 plus tax. I haven't even had the opportunity to buy one yet since he has a waiting list when one does come in. He hasn't had but three in so far, maybe one or two more by the years end.
One of the larger places around here had 12 in the other day but their price was $799.99 plus tax on sale, they had been selling them at $829.99. They have only a few 1911's to choose from; Ruger, Remington, Springfield, Rock Island Armory and American Classics. Out of all of them I think I like the Ruger the best followed by the Springfield in close second. The others leave a lot to be desired . . .
Would love one but I got a few other Ruger's on my list before that one. Mini-30, 10/22, Single Ten and perhaps an Alaskan.

Hoffmans Gun Center, Berlin Turnpike has sr 1911 most of the time for 669.00. Riverview Gun Sales typically has them also for 699.00. Both nice shops, Riverview staff a little more friendly.
