Please help! Question for anyone who had SR9c Trigger Reset Issues

Okay, I finally had a minor gun issue.

After a flawless range trip, I made a mistake after cleaning my SR9c & put it back together without pushing the trigger forward as stated in the manual.
I cycle checked it as usual after re-assembly and the trigger did not reset. I took it apart & went through the assembly again & caught my mistake, cycled the slide after re-assembly the 2nd time & it did not reset.

After the 3rd time of cycling, it reset & seemed ok after that. I have not got to shoot it again. Should I be concerned about this intermittent problem or is it just me assembling it wrong & a 1 time deal?

I guess my question is; The people that had trigger issues/reset problems, was it a hard failure or an intermittent problem??

You may have bent the trigger bar a little bit. What I would do is go shoot a few dozen rounds through it and see how well it resets. If it's having issues don't try to fix it yourself just in case it's something else not the trigger bar and call Ruger. They'll send you a return label.

When this happened to me it was out of the blue. I sent mine in and got it back 2 weeks later.

Mine only happened when shooting, not when cycling it by hand. Go shoot your gun to see if you have a problem or not. Mine came out of the box and was happening about once every 5 shots.

I think I know what you are talking about, and it is not a problem. You can duplicate this by locking open the slide and pushing the ejector down as if you were going to field strip. Instead of field stripping, if you brought the slide forward and pulled the trigger, the trigger would be supper light and not reset. (Do you know what I mean? If not, I will try and find a better way to explain it. ) I think something similar happens when you resemble the gun without the trigger forward. You can check: if the trigger is forward and the striker indicator on the back of the gun is not visible this will happen. To fix- rack the slide and double check to see if the ejector is up. That should reset it.

I own a SR40 and bought my daughter the SR40C last year to be used as a carry gun when she takes the CC course in a few months. So far these handguns have cycled about 700 flawless rounds each and I would be alarmed if either gun developed a trigger reset problem. They are employed as defensive weapons and failure to function properly would promp me to send the malfuntioning firearm back to Ruger.

Through the years Ruger quickly addressed any issues/concerns that I had about their firearms. They are good people and stand behind their products and customers.

I've thousands of rounds through my sr9c and never had a problem of any kind.
I know exactly what tshark is saying but I couldn't explain it any better. I hope this is all that's happening with your Ruger.

I think worse case is that you might have bent the trigger bar a bit. It will happen at some point in time. You can easily fix it, if that is the case.

Check the ghost trigger videos. They show how to remove the trigger bar and how the bar has a 90 deg angle at the end.

It was definitely my fault, When I took it back apart I realized what I forgot to do. When you re-assemble it you are supposed to push the trigger bar forward & I didn't. Hopefully it will be OK.

Thanks for all who helped! I unloaded it & cycled it again last night & it seems fine, but I have taken it out of service till I range-check it.
