SR1911 Front sight Moving

Hello All.... I noticed that my front sight appears to move. Last week at the range it look like it had moved to the right while shooting.... I was able to move it back (it seamed to only move a little), I was done shooting for the day so wiped it down and packed up. Got home and broke it down... had the upper in my hand and tried to move the sight and it wouldn't budge at all.. So I started to wonder to myself did it even move at all?? am I going crazy??

Today I went to the range sent 10 rounds down... and sure enough it had moved!! I guess while it heats up from being fired the sight loosens. I was able to slide it right off.

My question is: has this happen to anyone?, what do i do?, should I put better sights on while its off?

Thanks All...

Some blue loctite should fix it.

I'd put it back on and get it right for windage, mark it, take it off, loctite and reinstall. The other option is customer service as it isn't supposed to do that. I probably would just go with the first option as that would seem easier to me.

Called Ruger today for the hell of it... They emailed me a ups label to send it to them. She said the turn around time right now is 7-10 days. I had mentioned just using loctite and she told me not to, the dovetail might be off.. She told me to ship the whole gun just in case they need to replace the upper.. So I packaged it up and sent it out... We'll see how things play out.

Well, one way or another it will be sorted.

***UPDATE***

Hello all.... got my SR1911 back from Ruger today!! Greeted the UPS guy with a big smile ... Not to bad it was only gone for 15 days...

They replaced the Slide, front sight, & rear sight no logo? The paperwork reads: REAR SIGHT NO LOGO... I cant remember if my old one had the logo?? .... and they fired 25 rounds with no problem. Hopefully I can get out this weekend and test it myself...
