| What is it about the P95...
I've owned, sold, and traded a few handguns. The only handgun I regret ever selling is a Ruger P95.
It was a plain Jane blued model, nothing outwardly special. I admit that I consider the P95 to be less than an attractive looking handgun compared to others. It just doesn't look like it would be that good.
Looks aside, in my hands the P95 felt just right. POA = POI. It wasn't ammo sensitive. Once broken in, it gave me no problems. Over a few range sessions, the trigger smoothed itself out. It got better and better.
When I owned a P95, I didn't realize what I had. Only when it was gone and I got trigger time on other handguns did I truly understand what I let go. I'd fire other DA/SA hammer fired semi auto's, and keep on comparing whatever I was shooting to my old P95.
I found a good deal on a P95 Stainless, and couldn't walk away. I'm thrilled to own a P95 again. This one isn't leaving my collection.

Glad you found another one
Funny but you pretty much summed up my thoughts exactly. My buddy got a SR-9 a few months ago & I've shot it a few times & like it quite a bit. It looks better than my P-95 but I just can't see myself liking anything like I like my ugly ol P-95

I love the granddad of the P95. The P85. Like you said, blue, plain jane, but works like a champ. This is my training weapon. If a newbie can handle and hit targets with this fine weapon, anything is possible. And they have a great gun to compare everything and anything to. Enjoy your reunion.

i just bought mine recently, but i have a feeling it's never leaving. and i take exception to the ugly comments. they may not use mock-ups of the P95 in cops shows or movies, but i think there's something classic looking about it. i actually think glocks are kind of funny looking, but that's just me. apparently, they have a certain cool factor in some quarters.

While I don't shoot mine nearly as often as I once did (since adding my CZ75b to my stable two years ago), it still has over 12,000 down the pipe and has never had a single failure of any kind |

Depending on how your P95's trigger feel's you might consider looking at the Galloway Precision trigger kit with a Wolff Spring set. I've already seen how well these work with an LC9 and am considering a like installation on one of my Ruger's. I agree with what you say about the feel and function of the P95, it's a near perfect size. Glad you found a replacement.
