| Second SR9 or SR9c
After shooting my SR9 today, I am so impressed I plan on buying a second. I would like your opinion; a second SR9 as a spare, or a SR9c to compliment it? I use a Remora holster, so I am able to conceal the SR9 no problem. On the other hand, the SR9c is looking pretty tempting. I plan on selling my Glock 17 to fund my second Ruger pistol. I would like to hear your opinion.

I've got the SR9c and love it. Since you asked for opinions, mine is that I'd buy an SR9c and sell the SR9 for seed money for an SR1911.

Diversity! I like my SR9 alot but I wouldn't buy a second one, unless all my other gun desires had been meet. And there's an awful lot to desire |

I have both an SR9C and and SR9. I like shooting them both. I originally bought the SR9C for CCW use. It still gets used for that when the weather gets cooler here in Texas, but the wife fell in love with shooting it so it mostly is her range/practice/home defense gun. So that led to the SR9 purchase.
For me it is about having the same feel for each pistol. Same draw, same sighting, same trigger press. |

Get the SR9C and then you can use a SR9 mag with the grip extender and get the best of both worlds. (An SR9 mag fits the SR9C). Then you have the option of a full size grip or the compact. I originally bought the SR9C and liked it so much I bought an SR9, so I went the opposite way but I enjoy both guns.

I have an sr9 and love it, but i have been kicking around the thought of the sr9c or sr40c in hopes of illinois someday getting cc. I have shot the 40 and liked it, but with the sr9 the mags would interchange.

I did it opposite of you as well, I bought the SR9c, then later an SR9.
Originally though, I sold a full-size gun to be able to purchase the SR9, so I was going to get a SR9 to replace it. When I went to the gun shop, they did not have the SR9 Stainless in stock, but they had the SR9c. I bought it anyways, and was really happy that I did. I can carry it easily under just a tucked t-shirt. Then later on, I bought the SR9 to use at the range and in competition in USPSA because I already had a bunch of mags that would fit it, so it worked out really well.
Get the compact, you won't regret it!

We started with an SR9c and then added an SR9. The 9c is now my daughter's. Both are great guns. One distinction I don't like is the magazine extension for shooting the 17 round mag in the 9c. The rounded shape just doesn't feel right/comfortable in my hand. I'm going to get additional 10 round mags for the 9c and keep the 17 round mags with the 9. Since you already have the full size, I suggest you get the compact.

I agree with aversusb, I bought the SR9 first , than the SR9C for CC. Basically having the same handgun for CC and target helps to instill the muscle memory for the handguns.

I did what, it seems like several, others have done. I initially bought a SS SR9c two years ago, and love it. It has been a great pistol, no issues. Recently, I was in my LGS and spotted a SS SR9....yep, it went home with me. It also is a great pistol. I have to admit I am a real fan of Ruger firearms..... I just wish they would consider making a pump shotgun...hint, hint...
Good luck with whatever your decide, you won't be disappointed.

Wow, I thought I was the only crazy one with both! Now I want an SR40 and an SR40c. Quote:

I have the SR9c and love it. You have the option of the shorter grip with the 10 rnd mag or a full grip with the 17 rnd mag. It conceals easy and shoots anything I feed it.

Personally, it feels better to me than with the grip adapter on the magazine. Sometimes I will carry an extra 17 rd magazine in my pocket with my SR9c if I am in a crowded place, but I figure that 10 rounds of 9mm would get me out of most situations if anything ever went down.
