| Which LC9 to trade?
I have two LC9s and I'm planning on trading one in for a 357 LCR.
The LC9 test fire dates are within 2 weeks of each other but one has the front sight pinned and the other one doesn't. I have had no problems at all with either one. I have mostly shot the one without the pinned sight and it is very well broken in. The one with the pin seems to not shoot as accurately.(could just be me) I really don't like the look of the pin.
Should I take a chance on the sight not drifting and trade the one with the pin? As many rounds as I have through it I don't think it going to move.
What would you do?

It's not clear that all un-pinned sights eventually drift. Maybe yours is one of the good ones. Keep the one that makes you smile more.

Oh, speaking of the pinned sight . . . after I got my 3rd LC9 (Ruger replaced the first two) the third one had the pinned sight and now the pin has started to drift out of the top of the sight now!!!! Go figure . . . I just pressed it back in on the corner of my workbench . . .might put a dab of adhesive on it . . .

I would put some blue loc tite on that pin and call it a day.

Sell the one you dont like and keep the one you do. If you dont like it, you wont be shooting it. I cant imagine the sight moving back and forth in its grove but if it does, just drop it off at a gunsmith and he can tighten up the slot to keep it in place. Good luck.

You're not happy with the looks of the pin. The other front sight hasn't moved on the unpinned. Both seem to be reliable so that's not an issue. Trade the pinned one off and don't look back. You only go around once so do what makes you happy.

I really don't like the look of the pin.
| Does anyone have a photo of a pinned front sight on an LC9? Mine is not pinned, and I'm curious what it would look like if it did have a pin. Thanks.

It really doesn't mater which one you trade because if the unpinned sight loosens Ruger will send you a new pinned slide and a return mailer No charge and no down time.

Keep the one without the pin. It is well broken in and the front sight has not moved. I have 800 rds through my LC9 and it doesn't have a pinned sight, and I wouldn't want a pinned sight. They are ugly. But its your choice do what you want to do, just my .02 cents worth.

An easy fix on a sight is to remove the sight, put a few small punch marks in both sides of the sight, where the press fit of the sight fits into the dovetail in the slide. reinstall the sight. You can use blue locktite, but it should not be necessary.
