Going to say goodbye to LC9

Think it is time to get rid of my LC9. I have had it for 9 months and have put 500 rounds thru it. The gun has worked perfectly but I cannot get used to the trigger and can't hit the broad side of a barn! I do not have this issue with my Kahr's or my 1911. No matter what I do just doesn't feel right. Have never had a problem like this before with any other firearm. Has anybody out there have the same issue with this gun?

The stock trigger was rough. A mile long at best. The galloway parts helped a bunch but I traded mine for a 1911. I just like the feel of a bigger gun.

Yeah...but keeping mine after I installed all the Galloway Precision upgrades. Smooth as butter now and with the Crimson Trace installed, can't miss.

Sounds like a good idea. Some guns fit you and some guns don't.

I've shot about 500 rounds through mine and practice between 15 to 50 feet. No problem hiting coffee cans at any of those ranges. My wife also has consistant hits at those distances.
I did have Ruger send me a new slide (no charge) because the front sight was loose. The new one is pinned in place.
I also ccw my LC9 every day useing Ranger TS 147gr. It carrys well and I really like the feel of the
LC9.
Go with what you feel comfortable with every body has a comfort zone.

I like the LC9 as a daily carry--use a crossbreed supertuck--hardly feel the LC9. Have no trouble hitting the broad side of a barn from the inside- Coffee cans at 15 ft..trash cans at 50 ft.

I've been waiting months for these Galloway parts to become available, the only thing I don't like about my LC9 is the ridiculously long trigger pull.

Never shot one but just picking a LC9 up and not having it feel right to my grip was enough for me, bought a SP101 instead fits my hand like a glove.

It's a great little gun !! With or without the Galloway trigger parts. I even cleaned the Texas Star three times at 30 ft the other day after out USPSA match .. Carry it every day .

If the gun doesn't feel right... can it! Get something that works for you! The market has plenty of options so that you don't have to be stuck with something that feels awkward

Thanks for your responses. Will look at other brands, the shield looks like something I might like.

Don't look at other brands just other models of Rugers.

The Shield is a nice little gun but it sounds like you might want something a little more substantial in size like maybe an FNH FNX-9. I bought one and find myself carrying it in place of my Taurus PT-709 which I got as a replacement for my LC-9. The FNX-9 is a lightweight very well balanced, nicely sized, very accurate pistol. It also has just the right amount of size for my hands. I'd suggest at least holding one before commiting to any micro 9. I recently purchased a Springfield XDS-45 and it is the smallest .45acp I've ever owned but accuracy is limited to around a 4" group from the 15 yard line and goes up to about a dinner plate sized group from the 25 yard line. The FNX-9 will do much better in the form of consistant 3" groupings from the 25 yard line.

I feel your pain. I tried the Galloway parts and couldn't get them to work. So I put it back to stock and gave it to my son. I should be picking up it's replacement next weekend. I chose a Colt Defender 3" 1911 in 45ACP. I can hardly wait!
