Yes, I trust my LC9!
I have never had any problems with my LC9 I carry it everyday and have shot 1000s of rounds through it from my reloads to Speer Gold Dot +P.

If you haven't done so already, contact Ruger customer service about the sight problems.
My front sight also bounced out after a few mags. I contacted CS through the website and had a new slide a few days later.

In answer to the original question, yes I do trust it as my carry gun.

I went to Maine this past weekend and went shooting with a cousin who owns a new LC9. A few weeks ago during his first 100 rounds his rear sight came loose and he lost a plunger and a spring from under the sight.
All though Ruger quickly sent him the parts to replace himself, this should have never happened.
This past Friday while we were comparing my LCP and his LC9 his front sight shifted way off center of the slide.
He contacted Ruger Customer Service once again to explain what happened. They are sending him in the mail a slide with sights installed and he will return his postage paid.

This is his first Ruger product and maybe his last.

The speed at which Ruger is producing firearms the QC dept is off loading their work on us, the customer.

I have never had a ruger firearm that I would not trust my life with reliability wise.

I haven't had any problems with mine either. Not only does it go BANG every time, I can shoot a pretty good group with it once I got used to the long trigger pull. I also carry mine every day and trust it.

Had mine a year and three months, and no complaints yet. It goes BANG every time and is great to carry and enjoyable to shoot.

I trust it as well. Shot it last night and it shot great. My rear sight went loose at about 900 or 1000 rounds ( i lost count) but I fixed and it has been great ever since. For me, its not a big deal to do simple maintenance on my weapons. I probably needed to adjust the sight anyway as I shoot better with it now.

Only time mine hasn't gone bang was once and a great while when using Winchester White box. I haven't had loose sight issues as my front sight was pinned from the factory, they pinned it in the wrong place so I had to unpin it and correct it and loctite it into place.

My rear sight has only come off when I took it off to clean up the blocker button to get rid of the gritty trigger feel.

In stock form, I would not have trusted my LC9 to save my life, out past 10 feet. It was a point and pray deal since it shot so low and off target, even from a rest.

To get the windage correct, I had to unpin the front sight and move it to the left so that the edge of the sight was hanging slightly off the slide. I had to move the rear sight far to the right till it was hanging off the slide also, now my shots are center but the sights look goofy hanging off each side of the slide.

To get the elevation correct, I had to grind my front sight down to just a nub and repaint it.

Mine has been flawless through about 800 rds, with the exception of one FTFeed which I blame on an under powered round from Wally World ammo. I have had no issues with the sights coming loose, light strikes, or anything else. I carry mine almost daily in the summer months. My only complaint is the extra long trigger pull, it makes it tough for me to transition back and forth with my Glocks.

Over 1200 rounds through mine, no problems. No loose sights, trigger is smooth a butter. in fact the last 400 rounds no FTF, FTE or any problems at all with 5 different FMJ ammos & 2 HP ammo's. I guess I'm Lucky!
