I haven't had mine very long, and I really haven't put that many rounds through it (sub 300). My front sight started moving and my rear sight loosened up completely. Ruger sent me an updated slide with a pinned front sight and I just make the the rear is tight.
In my 250-300 rounds I've had one failure to go into battery. The slide stopped 1/4 from going into battery. A simple tap on the rear of the slide and it was good to go. I have never had an failure to eject, fire, or feed. All rounds were Sellier and Bellot 124gr with the exception of 16 Hornady Zombie rounds.

Upon reading this thread I checked my LC9 and found the rear sight was loose. I'm keeping an eye on it. I wonder if the demand for these pistols is so high this probably just slipped by? Oh, I do trust mine as much as I do my Mk II and 10/22.

My wife carries a LC9 with LaserMax. For her the kick is sharp, but after a thousand rounds no malfunctions, stoppages, breaks, or failures. I've shot it some and even though it is a little small for me I really like it. Good accuracy and easy to manipulate. Not bad for a $450 drive out. I would recommend it.

Yes the LC9 is a better copy of the PF9. If you pull these guns apart, you will find the internal parts are very similar. I have a highly modified LC9 and trust it, but do know a lot of people have had a lot of different problems with the LC9. What convinced me to buy another SD gun was when several LC9 owners reported having broken firing pins. I have had my firing pin out and thought it looked pretty fragile. You can search this forum for "broken firing pin".
I bought a Shield 40, and find it a much better gun. There is no comparison between the triggers, as the Shield's is sooooo much better. Also the Shield's bore axis sits 3/16 inch lower than the LC9's, which translates into less felt recoil.

I've had my lc9 for about 4 months now and I love it. It's my first C.C. gun, and I don't know what I'd change about it. it shoots good groups, and isn't too bulky to carry with good power. I'm thinking of buying an LCP for the ankle and leaving the lc9 on my waist only.. As for the loose sight, mine isn't, and if it becomes loose, why can't it be tightened up with some loctite? I'm all for Rugers customer service, but how hard is it to tighten up a sight? as for trusting the gun with my life as a daily carry weapon, of course I do. It's never not went "bang" and if I ever do need it, most likely I'll never need to fire a shot. I'm a 1911 guy, but the 1911 isn't a good C.C. gun, so the LC9 will have to do.

Took mine out a couple days ago to exercise it a little. Failed to fire twice using Winchester White box.
I am blaming the ammo due to having read about problems with it.
My sights are not loose even though I unpinned my front sight and loctited it instead. Ruger pinned the front sight in the wrong position from the factory.

Two LC9's and not a problem with either of them. I carry one every day and my wife has her's with her in the house. Once you get the trigger pull down it is a nice shooting pistol, not a range pistol, but a nice carry pistol.

I ccw every day and have about 300 rounds through it of various makes of ammo , no problems other than having Ruger send me a new slide with a pinned front sight.
They took care of that with no cost and no down time.

Was on the fence about the LC9, so many tales of problems here. But I wandered into a LGS a couple of weeks ago and found a used one for 299. Couldn't pass on it this time. The shop has been around a while and they said they would work with me if I ran into any problems with it. It had a couple of small scratches on the slide which really is of no concern. If it becomes a regular carry piece for me I will add my own scratches eventually.
I have tried it out to some extent and so far so good. The only problems so far is a couple of FTE's while shooting WWB 115 grain ball ammo. I was suprised at that, even the POS kel tec I had last year would shoot those just fine. But it has not balked at other types of ammo, including two different brands (so far) of 147 JHP.
More testing is needed (+P ammo is next on the agenda), but if this holds then I might finally have a keeper.
