SR9c

I have a chance to trade my CW9 for an SR9c. I had one of these only the full size version that I sold because it kept having the cam block pin walk out. Sent it back to Ruger and they did nothing but put a new pin in it. I like the Kahr but the trigger is not the best, smooth but way to long. I love my Glock 26, and was thinking that this may work out if I can get the pin problem fixed.

I went to the range with the guy who offered the trade, and he said he has not sent it back to Ruger and that if you turn the gun on the right side one of the cam block pins walks out. The spring is not engaging and its way to sloppy in the hole. I called Ruger and they said they would make it right, but there are a lot of complaints with this problem on the web. Ruger said that its a very small amount compared to how many guns they sell. I don't know why but I am not quite buying that line. Way too many people are posting complaints about it. Ruger said if they can not fix it they will replace it including transfer fees.

Kahr has its own hit and miss issues. I had a problem with my first Kahr and sold it and sent a compliant letter to Kahr. They offered me a new CW9 for 259 to be able to remove my complaint from the BBB. This one has had no issues. The two things I don't like about the Kahr is that one the trigger which I mentioned above, and two the slide interaction with the rails in the front of the frame. If they widen over time it could pose a problem to the gun and I noticed that there is a bulge in the front of the frame, the rails fit quite well and I think this bulge is original to the manufacture of the gun. I like the heft of the Ruger, more metal than a Glock.

I also don't like the Kahr 5 years and your on your own.

And your question is? Or just making a statement? Pleased with mine, as well as quite a few other owners.

I thought it was implied. Question, should I trade a CW9 for an SR9 and can Ruger fix this problem?

Personally, I would, but only you can answer this. If you were happy with your present one, you wouldn't be considering it. Only reason I ever get rid of anything, is if I am not pleased with it.

I have the PM9 and the SR9C and I would lean toward the SR9C, simply because I like the trigger better, and there is the greater capacity to consider. But as stated by others the decision is yours. Good luck.

I would say I love how small the Kahr is, I don't like the trigger. Its too long even thoguh its a smooth trigger its way too long. I love my Glock trigger and the SR9 is more like the Glock tirgger.

I don't like the way the Kahr has its rails molded into the front of the gun, I don't know this is a problem or could be a problem, if not its not really something I need to get rid of the gun for. The trigger is one thing I really don't care for. but the small package of the gun is very nice.

After 800 rounds I had a pin walk out on my SR9c. A dab of loctite blue 242 quickly cured it. My GP100 had a screw get loose and caused the cylinder to bind shut. Again, loctite cured it. Will I ever buy a Ruger again? Absolutely. Kahr? Never.

I love my SR9c and have shot a few 1000 rounds through it. I would trade for the SR9c in a heartbeat.
As far as the percentage of returns, Ruger sells 1000s of SR9cs compare that to the complaints on the web....not even close.

Seems the way people see Kahr, they either love them or buy one and never buy another again. I hear great things about the SR9c trigger. Sure the "Locktite fix" is there, but I take down my SR9 almost completely often so that might be a problem

I've never shot a Kahr, but I love my SR9c and have had zero problems or jams with it. Due to the gritty-ness I've found in all my new Rugers, I'd say they have a final inspection problem. However, all my Rugers have functioned as designed right out the box. Even my LC9 which I gave away because I didn't like the trigger, still did the job it was supposed to do. My other Rugers are my SR40c and my SR1911. BTW - my LC9 did not have any grit in it, but it was literally dripping with oil in the box when I first opened it.

The blue loctite comes off easily enough. The red needs heat to remove.

I have the SR9C and I'm very pleased with it! Not only is she accurate, with minimal recoil, but also easy to conceal! What's not to like?

Get one and enjoy!

My SR40c, which is the same pistol as the SR9c but in 40 S&W, is one of my very favorite pistols.

I've got over 1000 rounds through my SR9C now, and I am more impressed with this gun's trigger set every time I shoot it. In my opinion, it's a better and smoother trigr than my buddies glocks and xp's. It is much smoother than the m&p's that we are issued as duty weapons in the department that I work for.
