| LC9 for American Classic II 1911?
A local gentleman has offered a trade to me. He saw my LC9 and said he had a 1911 for trade. Im dying for a 1911 but I'm not a 100% sure on this deal. I know the opinions are most likely going to be ruger biased but what would YOU do?

Funny that they call it the American Classic when it's made in the Phillipines lol. I might be a tad suspect unless he is someone you know pretty well. You can buy those 1911's for under $500 to begin with. Is he trying to unload a lemon? Is it one of those 1911's that don't feed hollowpoints? I looked at some of those guns by Metro on gunbroker..look kinda cheapie to me. If you are buying it for a fun plinker then ok..for defense I don't think so unless it functions without any issues for at least 200-300 rounds.

They are actually pretty decent 1911s for the price. My local gunsmith swears that they are made better than some higher cost 1911s. I got to shoot one about 6 months ago and it has an amazing trigger. The finish on the SS is terrible, however the blued is pretty nice. RIA and Metro Arms have come a long way and considering the price point, I wouldn't hesitate owning one.

It looks really nice. It is the Blued version too. I'm thinking I might just have to save up my pennies and buy the SR1911 the lgs has for 649. Maybe see how much they would give me in trade for my lc9 and pay the rest in cash.

I would be the proud owner of another 1911. LC9s are getting cheap as crap now.
The only good thing about my LC9 is that I forget I am carrying it in a fobus paddle. Wife had to remind me that i was still wearing it last night when I was working in the garage on one of my atvs.

I dont understand why everyone loves the 1911. Any other similar modern handgun has a higher capacity but yet everyone wants an 8 shot. If im limiting myself to 8 shots, its going to be a .357. There are many 12 and 13 shots .45s and 15 shot 10mms

My personal desire for one comes from the fact my grandfather had one as a gnysgt in wwII. He pretty much raised me as a kid and I got to see his and always admired it.

I think it's the single stack that is making a huge difference in the feel.

Metro makes some nice guns but some people think that you have to spend a fortune on a 1911 for it to be functional. I would make that trade in a heartbeat. I have an American Classic Commander and would never think of trading it for an LC9! Just my opinion.
