I really hate these hypothetical questions...

...probably because I'm afraid they might come true some day.

My answer might vary depending on the circumstances...the most likely situation would be that we got so old that we couldn't physically use them anymore or (worse!) global-level social distress that would only allow one...OK, I can do this! For me, it would likely be a .22; the single caliber that can almost do it all for pennies and it's easy to stockpile lots of ammo. I wouldn't hesitate to take animals up to deer size for food if it came to that and as small game/birds are probably the most plentiful, I'd think keeping meat in the pot would be job #1. Defensively, there are lots of choices, but the lowly .22 will do the trick in a pinch for sure...so, yes, make mine a .22

Now the question becomes, "Which one?"

And, as my all time favorite .22 is a 10/22 the question is still, "Which one?"

Gets tough now, but I'd probably hang on to my supressed 10/22. It will do it all.

All mine are keepers, I don't plan on selling any of them.

SR1911.

This is my favorite gun by a very wide margin and I have only owned it for one week. I hope Ruger will make a "Commander" size 1911. I would buy it in an instant as a companion to my current SR1911.

15 months ago I would have said my BHP. But now I would say my SR1911. Yes I like it that much.

I don't intend to sell any of my current guns, but if I had to pick - the two that would never be sold are; the Ithaca M66 Super Single 410 that was under the Christmas tree when I was 10 years old and the Remington 870 Wingmaster 12 gauge my Dad gave me when I was a Senior in High School.

Id say my SR9, my first handgun, its been as reliable as I could ever ask of it to be. Fits great in the hand, slim. Its sitting on the couch next to me right now because I just enjoy its company

it would depend why i am selling any in the first place.....

i would like to say my Glock 19 (or 17). high cap, 9mm, accurate, totally reliable, night sights, tons of extra mags, etc....

however, if i were being totally practical i would say my Mk III Target. can't go wrong with a .22.

I love shooting the PP and PPK but I'm not sure it would be the only (last) gun I would want to own.

Very hard question. Let me put it this way, if I HAD to sell something the only one I could stand to part with would be the very crappy Mossberg bolt action 12 gauge. Only reason I have it is because my dad used to own the 20 gauge version of the same gun ages ago and it made him happy, so I bought the 12 gauge equivalent to replace it for him. Couldn't find a 20. It never gets shot.

All the rest of my guns were either inherited or purchased after much, much research and all serve a particular purpose. Selling one would punch a hole in my currently well thought out battery and that is a notion I cannot stand.

Duh, just realized we're only talking handguns. In that case I'd have to go with the GP100.
