| SR1911 spotted
At the Pittsburgh Gun Show saturday 4-28-12 I spotted an SR1911. Held it - fondled it - pretended to shoot it - saw the price they were asking.
"Whoa," I said to the guy "$799!"
"You can't get one anywhere!" he says.
I don't blame anyone for the prices being so high. Simple supply and demand. Someday they'll be available everywhere, even used, and THAT'S when I'll grab one.
If someone reading this - in the pittsburgh area - will pay what they want, it was there saturday, could still be there today.

They are becoming more available all the time as Ruger keeps cranking out more everyday, soon every gun shop will have them in stock and we can pick and choose the price to pay.

When I read about prices like that I conclude that my SR1911, over the year less four days that I have had it, seems to have appreciated better then either my 401K or my house |

I would get a springfield or such for 850 or so or I would wait for a ruger.

Call Ace Sporting Goods on Route 19 North in Washington, PA. They seem to have a fair supply of firearms.

Depending on what you think is a reasonable price, I got lucky. Found one online 2 days ago for $649. It will be at my FFL tomorrow. I won't be able to pick it up for a while though because of the mandatory waiting period...

I saw one at a range in Wisconsin last weekend for $729.... it was so difficult to keep from reaching for my wallet. I may end up going back up and giving in to temptation...
