The smith did you so wrong in so many ways. As you found out unless you polish too much you won't take the electro engraving all the way off. I commend your work, well done.

A couple of special touches... Wilson Combat barrel lug and Wilson hex magazine release screw. What appears to be marks is just lint.

WOW! That really turned out great! I'm glad everything turned out ok. I don't know what I would've done if someone did that to ANY of my guns! Now you get the added satisfaction of doing it yourself! Fantastic job!

You may have answer this in a earlier post and I missed it, but did you replace all blued parts, or did you 'buff off the bluing' if that makes sense?

Beautiful gun though. It's almost to pretty to shoot, but I don't believe in that!

The black parts are not blued, they are coated with something similar to melonite. The only parts I replaced were the mag release locking screw and the barrel lug. I polished everything.

I immediately messaged him saying how extremely disappointed I was in his "work" , that it wasn't even worth the $50 he wanted and he should be ashamed of himself. He responded in short order and told me he knew I was upset, and to just to take the $50 back. He knows he tried to do me wrong. Bear in mind the communication was all through text, he hadn't even heard the tone of my voice. Anyone else want to chime in on how childish I'm being?

Here is the condition of the slide as I received it back:

What polishing compound are you using ?? Mothers Mag or Flitz ?, or another product ? Looks great ! I'm polishing an SP101 now using Mothers Mag, but others have used Flitz.
