The smith did you so wrong in so many ways. As you found out unless you polish too much you won't take the electro engraving all the way off. I commend your work, well done.

| A couple of special touches... Wilson Combat barrel lug and Wilson hex magazine release screw. What appears to be marks is just lint. |

WOW! That really turned out great! I'm glad everything turned out ok. I don't know what I would've done if someone did that to ANY of my guns! Now you get the added satisfaction of doing it yourself! Fantastic job!

You may have answer this in a earlier post and I missed it, but did you replace all blued parts, or did you 'buff off the bluing' if that makes sense?
Beautiful gun though. It's almost to pretty to shoot, but I don't believe in that!

Beautiful gun though. It's almost to pretty to shoot, but I don't believe in that! | The black parts are not blued, they are coated with something similar to melonite. The only parts I replaced were the mag release locking screw and the barrel lug. I polished everything.

Here is the condition of the slide as I received it back:

What polishing compound are you using ?? Mothers Mag or Flitz ?, or another product ? Looks great ! I'm polishing an SP101 now using Mothers Mag, but others have used Flitz.
