| Difference firing between SR9c vs SR9
Hi, I've owned an SR9c since soon after their release and am really happy with it. I was looking for opinions from anyone who has fired both the SR9c and the SR9 if they noticed differences in recoil, accuracy etc.. Thinking about an SR9 if the difference is substantial. Like the difference between an Officer and Full size 1911. The gun will solely be a range gun and would probably be fitted with some Galloway parts and a Ghost bar. Unfortunately I don't know anyone with an SR9 and although probably could find a range with a rental I don't want to confine my opinion to a rental which has probably seen all sorts of abuse. Thanks.

I own a full size SR9 & my dad owns a SR9c and I've shot both of them plenty. The full size has less recoil and is more accurate in my hands than the compact. On a good day at the range, I can put 15-17 rounds into an area the size of a quarter at 15 feet with my full size SR9. My groups tend to scatter around more with the SR9c. There's nothing wrong with the compact & it's still very accurate. I just shoot better with the full size & enjoy it a lot more.

I have a SR40 an SR40c and have never noticed any difference in the two, other than the SR40c is easier to conceal with the 9 round mag.

I also have both and the difference to me was very little like mndoggie said, especially when I used the 17rd mag.

If you are looking for strictly a range weapon, I would recommend looking at a DA/SA trigger weapon, not a striker fired. I think you will be happier with the trigger. Just my two cents. Full sized would also be my preference for range only.

I have both, the trigger on the SR9C IMO is better, the SR9 feels gritty, the C is just smooth....was thinking of doing a trigger job or something but have put up the SR9 for a trade for a GP100, I'm more a wheel gun kinda guy.

I just don't like the way it fits my hand even with the 17 round mag with the extension grip. It feels loos to me. My wife likes it fine and it's also her carry gun. I carry the LCP or LCR as they fit in my pocket pretty easy or IWB.

Thanks for the responses. I think I'll hold off on the SR9 and maybe just update the spings and bar on my SR9c ala Galloway.

Heard a lot of good reports about the SR40c |
