I'm new here, but have been lurking for a couple weeks. Just picked up a new SR40c and am in love. What a great pistol! I've installed a host of Galloway products on it, namely- the trigger smooth it kit, ghost ultimate 3.5, 18lbs recoil spring with steel guide rod, polished striker indicator, polished safety plunger, loaded chamber indicator delete, and Talon grips. I have also polished the barrel, striker, and all trigger parts. I just love it... Here's a current photo just because:

(Forgive the mat. I don't yet own a Glock, but have considered one lately. I also needed a cleaning mat...)


Anyway- I've been having a reset issue with the trigger, and after 200 rounds at the range tonight, I think I've figured out a key part. With the 9 round magazine, I have zero issues. The trigger feels great and responds well. But with the 15 round magazine, the trigger hangs and won't reset completely until I loosen my grip ever so slightly. I've got fairly big hands that are pretty strong, (and I'm a new shooter) so I'm probably putting a death grip on it. I don't think that should matter though. The 15 round magazine is somehow interfering with the trigger reset. I can't for the life of me figure out the friction point I need to fix...

Any thoughts? Anyone else experience this?

[EDIT]- To clarify the reset issue, firing two rounds would look like this:

1. Pull trigger and hold back
2. Slide racks completely
3. Release trigger completely
4. Loosen grip ever so slightly, and hear the trigger *finish* resetting. (Hear a slight click.)
5. I can then fire again...

Sorry can't tell you exactly why it's doing it but your not the only one. I hear it over and over that when guys have reset problems they are with the hi-cap mag or worse with the hi-cap mag. Had the same issue myself when I was playing with lightened striker springs and couldn't figure out why and why it could be worse with the hi-cap mag, don't make sense but it's true.
First thing I'd try is removing the Ghost Ultimate, for whatever reason they do tend to make the reset issues rear their ugly heads.

I haven't changed a thing on mine and my trigger didn't reset twice in the first 30 rounds I shot it. It really worried me but I realized I took the risk when I didn't clean it first. After I cleaned it, I've ran 220 rounds through it of different types and never had any malfunction of any kind.

If you have the original parts, I'd try to put them on and see if that helped.

Just took it back apart and compared the trigger reset bar (apparently also referred to as the connector) to the stock one. I found that the Ghost bar was bent slightly inward compared to the stock part. According to the troubleshooting guide here, having the bar slightly inward will cause reset issues. I'm going to head to the range today for a hundred rounds and see if that corrected it.
