Bought an LC9 and edc it loaded with win. Ranger TS 147gr JHP.
So far it has fired all the American ammo I fed it. I stick to the boxer primer ammo because some of the forigen made ammo the primers melt and plug up the firing pin causing ftf.
For ccw it is a very comfortable pistol.

Got 2 LC9's, one for me and one for my wife. Both are good pistols and god shooters. Haven't had a problem with either. They carry good too.

I was the third to comment on the LC9 in this thread, I still love mine but since that post I have bought an SR9c. I consider the 9c a much better weapon, it is just a little bigger but carries 10+1, shoots night and day better right out of the box. Absolutely a great trigger and fun to shoot, the LC9 is not as much fun to shoot as compared to the 9c.
I have done the Galloway mods to my LC9 which makes it much better but still I recommend the SR9c

I'm not a fan of the LC9. The trigger is putrid. But worse, is the ridiculous and obnoxious dorsal fin, cleverly disguised as a "Lawyer Chambers Indicator", that protrudes from the top of the slide. Just one more part to break, IMO. Egad! What an eyesore.

I prefer the S&W Shield with it's superior trigger and ergonomics. I'll take the Shield's idiotic Lawyer Stamp on the side of the slide over the LC indicator any day.

I own more Rugers than any other brand of gun. I'm not hatin' on SR, I'm just hatin' on the LC9. Especially when there are better options available.

YMMV.

I am fairly new to firearms and currently own a Ruger SR1911, a Ruger Mark III Target pistol, and a Springfield XD9SC that I carry as an EDC pistol and consider all three to be winners.

I bought an LC9 to use as an EDC pistol and found it was great as a pocket pistol. However, I just could not get used to the long trigger pull. I think it is a great gun and people who have shot revolvers could easily get used to the long trigger pull. In my case, after shooting the XD9SC with the stryker pin, I found it very difficult to adjust to the long trigger pull, so I traded it for a Springfield XDS.

I would not let my experience discourage anyone from considering the LC9. I am not sure you can find a better pocket pistol in 9mm.

I am like a lot of others on this thread who have the LC9 and ccw (out of state of course). I also have a laser max on it and have not problem pocket carrying it or iwb with a remora holster. The loaded chamber indicator and safeties are
a non issue for me. It does have a long trigger pull like others have said but if you practice, practice you should be ok. I have had the opportunity to look at the shield and think it is one to consider against the lc9. It is to me slightly larger than the lc9 but a better trigger. I would buy one if not for the hassel in NJ going for the purchase permit. Also consider the sr9c which I really like and carry also out of state. Good Luck

I have really tried to like my LC9, but am going to pass it to the next person.

So far I have a soft hammer (firing pin is beating it up) and feel it will quickly wear out. No hammers sold for replacement any longer.

Loaded chamber indicator has tied the gun up several times, unacceptable for a SD weapon.

Absolutely the worst trigger I have ever experienced on a firearm, worse than even a Mosin.

Ruger is using enamel paint for their colored parts, solvents soften and remove this stuff. All gun parts should be solvent proof, other manufacturers do this, Ruger can too.

When I contacted Ruger about replacement parts, all they could do was have me send it in for evaluation. If I can't maintain my own equipment, I get rid of it. Needed parts are unavailable, so on the auction block this thing goes.

I do like the form factor, size and caliber, it just isn't really a finished product yet.

Tracer is an unknown quantity at this point
The wife and I both had a pair (one each) but they were a real pain. Finally I traded both off for sub-compact Glocks and never had another problem.

Over 600 rounds fired very accurate very managsble and for ccw the LC9 is great.
I carry it every day in a Ritchie IWB holster. loaded with Win. Ranger TS 147gr HP.
The LC9 has fired without a flaw all the American made boxer primer ammo I have fed it.

Not sure if the OP has already got their answer but here's my two cents. I was considering the LC9 but couldn't bring myself to believe it was a good buy. After $400.00 cost and then more money for aftermarket products to correct trigger pull, etc., for the same basic price of around $400.00 I got an SR40c. Size is comparable, DA/SA striker fire on SR40c vs DAO on LC9 and 40 S&W has better stopping power over 9mm. Others have posted about not liking the various safety features but that was not a game changer with me. My thinking is if you don't like all of the safeties, take your chances and don't use them. In the end, if Ruger would have done the LC9 correctly the first time I probably would have considered it more but didn't see any advantages over the SR40c.
