Ordered mine in November and I am still waiting. I will wait as long as I need seeing that I paid 570.00 including shipping out the door Although I did stop by a range last week that had the SR1911 available for rental. 200 rounds through it just made me even more impatient. I heard that Ruger was going to double the production, has anyone heard anything about that lately?

I own a LCR & a P89. I know 1911's are great and been around forever. But I don't understand the 1911 thing. A P345 comes in at the same size & weight. Is it that someone can say I own a 1911? What am I missing?

Mine SR1911 was $599.99 when I got it almost a year ago. My LGS is now $639.99, so not to bad. I have seen them up to $750.00 at gunshows..

While at my LGS where I have my 1911 on order, I saw his cost is 535.00. He's selling it to me at 595.00. Of course that 535.00 is an already marked up price from his supplier.

Picked mine up Saturday (2-11-12) at LGS in Tulsa. Paid $650. Figured his cost was $535 plus shipping. If he made $100 on this gun it was a good deal for both of us. He stays in business, the city/state get to pave the roads, police the town, etc., and I got my SR1911 and can shoot it right off my back porch!
In spite of it's problems, America IS the greatest place in the world. If you don't believe that, just leave and then you will know.
