| SR9c Trigger not resetting
I just purchased my Ruger SR9c (on 1-24-12) and I am already having issues with this gun. The trigger isn't resetting on some of the rounds. I have tried both the 10 round magazine and the 17 round magazine. The gun will fire, eject the previous round and chamber the next round, but the trigger will not reset.
I have cleaned and re-oiled the gun paying special attention to the striker channel and even slightly over oiling it. I still get the same issues. I haven't been able to get through a single magazine and I am only 60 rounds in. I know there is a break in period but the problem is getting worse and not better.
I purchased this gun for my carry weapon and home defense. I am going to contact Ruger and get this fixed. That being said I do not trust this gun to defend me and my family. My Beretta NEOS has been a far more reliable gun and it was purchased on the same day.

I've put over 800 rounds through my SR9c with no issues. Send it back to Ruger for a fix.

My wife just got a SR9c and the trigger did not reset once or twice, she was keeping the trigger back after the slide cycled, just a thought.

I left a message with Ruger and I am currently awaiting a call back. My confidence has been shaken in this firearm and I am not sure if I can trust it enough for the role that it is supposed to fill. Quote:

I thought about that as well and went through and slowly fired each round. My finger is coming off the trigger when it cycles.

My wife had it happen, in the first 50rds, but neither of us have been able to recreate it. Ruger will fix you up! Their customer service is the best. Sux, you will have to send it off.

Well I got in touch with Ruger, the guy had no idea what was wrong with it.
They are sending me a shipping label so they can take a look at it. Hopefully they can get it running flawlessly.
I really like this gun but I don't trust it right now.

sorry to hear this is happening to your sr9c. I don't know if it is the cause, but maybe try to not over oil it. good luck. I have owned mine for less than a week and 420 rounds later, no problem.
keep us posted.

I went and tried another 50 rounds today and I had 3 -4 more failures. I tried holding my finger on the trigger to simulate it and removing my finger. It really didn't matter it still failed.

The ONLY time I ever had this happen through about 3,000 rounds was after I removed the mag disconnect. Put it back in and it worked flawlessly. Removed it, it screwed up again. Put it back and it was again flawless.
Just a thought.

Mine did this when new.
Called Ruger, sent it in and it came back with an awesome trigger which it didn't have before I sent it in. Trigger was gritty. Nothing like what I had seen described in the Hickock45 video I watched.
Anyway, flawless for 1000 rounds since it came back.

Just a thought. | I did take the mag disconnect out, I will try putting it back in and trying it. However I dont see why that would be the issue.
I will put it back in tonight and try running 50 rounds through it tomorrow and see how it does.

Just a thought. | That's funny, opposite happened to me....The first time I took my SR9c out it was "hitching" some on the reset and once or twice didn't reset. I removed the mag safety and its never had an issue since, that was 1000 rounds ago.

| SR9c trigger not resetting
Haven't had an issue with this, I did install a Ghost trigger reset bar, kept the stock springs. It is possible there may be some dirt in the trigger assembly that may be causing this. Ghost has a good video out on how to disassemble the SR9c trigger assembly; it is not difficult. If you send the gun to Ruger for service they will disassemble and clean for you plus they will replace any aftermarket parts (saving sights) you may have installed (trigger, recoil rods etc) Ruger has wonderful customer service, top notch. They are very busy so expect around 2-3 weeks turn around. I use mine exclusively for CCW and home defense. I trust it, my wife also carries one. Happy shooting!!

The mag disconnect isn't the issue. I went out and fired 50 rounds and got the same result. Although it seems to be getting better. I only had to reset the striker 3 times out of the box instead of 3-4 times per-magazine.
I have made no other changes to the gun other than removing the mag disconnect. I did put it back and and I am planning on shipping it out Tuesday.
Hopefully they can make it right
