what does this mean?

This is a discussion on what does this mean? within the Ruger Pistols forums, part of the Pistol & Revolver Forum category; Was just wondering if anyone knew what the dot was for mine was a yellow sticker does mean something from factory....

I'm sure it's just a quality control measure.
Indicates who passed it.
I've had different coloured stickers on Rugers before and never really thought about it.

That was discussed at the other Ruger forum. Each inspector has a different color dot.

Yellow dots are rejects LOL. ONLY KIDDING IT'S THE INSPECTOR'S MARK.

It's what the inspectors use to show what type of failure the gun has. I think the red dot means the gun failed to fire.

No, actually it is color coordinated to the gun that it ripped off.

Red stickers for the Glock ripoffs
Yellow stickers for the Kel-Tec PF9 ripoffs
Green stickers for the Kel-Tec P3AT ripoffs
Orange stickers for the Walther P22 ripoffs
etc
