Ruger's got some great-looking grips on their site, I like the snakeskin-pattern ones. I'd really like to see these in a darker/blacker wood, think that would look great.

Since my youngest son is a lefty I'm probably gonna put an ambi safety on it sooner or later. Otherwise I like it like it is!

those grips look really good. How does the grip tape do for you? I've been thinking about doing the same.

Looks good 23pairer. I am thinking of a Videcki 3-hole trigger (I like the classic 3 round holes over the Ruger's more modern-looking trigger design).

I just haven't decided how much I will leave black, and how much will be switched over to stainless. I know I will get a stainless pin kit and leave the msh, grip safety, and hammer black....but Im on the fence on which way I want to go with the thumb safety, slide release, and mag release.

What is everyones' opinion of all stainless with only the msh, hammer, and grip safety black? I thought it might look nice with dark grips.

I put on the Hogue, one-piece, wrap-around, grips today and damn, that feels good! The only other mods I am considering right now are Trijicon night sights and MAYBE a tactical rail for a light.

Has anyone gotten the night sights that can advise on the part # for the SR1911.. will any 1911 fit or is it a specific size to fit the dovetails? Also, anyone put an aftermarket tactical rail on the lower? Any suggestions??

Grip tape feels great. I have put it on 3 1911's I own. Instant stick-ability.

Not much in the way of customized mods, except for another set of Ruger grips in striated rosewood...good but pretty dark. I have, however, used three of the .22 lr conversion units on mine. Ciener, Marvel, and Advantage Arms all work well and would put bulk Remington .22's into a little less than 2" @ 25 yds; but I was unable to get the Colt (sliding chamber) unit to go on the lower rails. Here's a few pics. Rod

I am giving serious thought to the Advantage Arms 22LR, I believe thats the only one that stays open on last round which is nice.

Ahem. If you want to mod an SR1911, you can jolly well get your own, Buster I will, however, allow you to put it on the RO
Sincerely,
Your Wife

North country gal will become famous soon enough
Love our SR1911 just the way it came out of the box. Won't do anything to it because I want to explore some other options by purchasing another 1911. Like I actually need another excuse to buy a gun!

Still waiting for my SR1911 to arrive but I am collecting my parts.
CS warp speed trigger mod kit
Kensight adjustable target grips
Shok buffers
That should get me started. I will be using the gun for match shooting. It is sure a long wait but will be worth it.

Going to resurrect this thread as I now actually have an SR1911. This has become more my wifes gun, I usually shoot the Springfield Ranger Officer.

Those shok-buffs sound interesting Rhyno, do they make a big difference?
