Lc9

I shot about 200 rounds thru my lc9 and the front sight came loose.I called Ruger and I was the 16th caller .(hung up) I thought about it and bought some red locktight put that on the front sight and it raised the impact of the bullet. at 20 yd it raised 3in. So I took it back off took a sharp punch and made a indent on the front and in back of the dovetail. Then took the punch and drove the sight back on. (It's perfect) can now hit accurately up to 23yds then bullet drops. Did anybody else have this problem?

Welcome, and sorry you've had problems with your LC9 sights. You are far from the first. Search a bit here to find other threads.

Rather than put the Loctite under the sight, now that you have it positioned where you want it, put a bit on each side of the dovetails. It will seep under any open space it finds.

I usually tilt the gun slightly, add a drop and let gravity do it's thing for a bit, then wipe off any excess, let it dry and do the other side.

Hope you won't have any more problems.

Are these older front sights? Because my front sight is pinned on my LC9. I think I would rather send it in and maybe Ruger would pin the front sight on it?

Some are reporting pinned front sights (me with serial # 295xxx) and others with later serial numbers do not have a pinned front sight, which leads me to believe that Ruger fixed the problem after first using a pin.

My ser# is 320-xxx and it wasn't pinned. Before it came loose it was very accurate. That's the reason I didn't want to send it back. Hard telling what they may have done to it.I use to work in a factory.I don't trust 'm

Lots of reported problems with the front sights. Ruger will pin it in place for you for free.
