| Any LCP owners out there?
I have been thinking about getting a very concealable handgun, such as the LCP. I've seen all the YouTube videos and to me they are mostly positive. But I want to know what those of you that own an LCP think of the gun.
Does it fire and eject reliably? How accurate is it? Any hardware problems? Does anyone know what the life expectancy of the gun should be (as in total number of shots run through it)? Any recommendations on a pocket holster? Do you like the gun enough to EDC it? Do you shoot it often? Any other comments?

Great little gun in my opinion.
Never had a problem with feed/fire.
With practice and the right ammo, I've found it plenty accurate.
I generally take it out to the range once a month and put a few hundred rounds through it.
I practice lift, point and shoot (double tap) at 25 yards on a 12" target and rarely miss with both.
No wear other than normal bluing wear so I expect it will last a good long while.

I bought it specifically for an easy CCW and havn't been disappointed yet. I know some say it's not enough firepower, but I'm mainly hopeing to be able to get out of danger and not necessarily take someone out. I don't hink I'd want to be hit with a .380 or .22lr or any bullet for that matter.

SHOOT IT FIRST!!!!
i though it would be awesome, and i honestly wanted to like it (i REALLY wanted to like it), but it was very awkward to shoot... the trigger is odd especially with big hands or longer fingers. i rented it a few times and kept giving it a chance but ended up with the LCR (which is amazing, by the way).
the LCP is hand down one of the most convenient and easy to pack guns on the planet, but it is not the best in the hand. i am not talking about sights or long trigger... i am talking about how far back the trigger has to be pulled before firing. the only thing i can compare it would be trying yo grip a bat, or screw driver, or searing wheel. or something like that... that's not fat enough to fit your hand properly (the tips of your fingers run into your palm/thumb, preventing a good grip). in the LCP's case it's not the "grip", but how far back the trigger needs to be pulled before firing. it's hard to explain, but if you try to fire it it will either happen to you or it wont. if it does it's a deal breaker. if not you have just found an great CCW gun.
on the positive side (in my opinion):
i found it extremely accurate, and (despite what some may say) very controllable (as far as recoil is concerned). i have no issues with .380 for CCW either. the bad guy will not be able to tell the difference between 9mm and .380.

I got one when they first came out. I've only shot about 50 rounds through it. Just enough to give me confidence that it would go bang if I need it. No, it does not shoot great, not a great trigger, not real powerful, and not very accurate. But... that is not why I bought it. It goes where I go very easily, and unnoticed. Inside the waist holster or just in my pocket. If I ever need it, I doubt I will notice the trigger, and my target will probably be within 8 feet, so I will not be aiming for a bullseye, just pointing and squeezing off as many rounds as possible. Love mine.

I like my LCP so much I have almost 3000 rnds thru her.Sure there are some things to learn like the trigger pull. it is different but it is safe. You need to dry fire it to get used to the trigger. The first time I fired it I was less than impressed with the trigger. Now I enjoy it. You can't always rent a gun and become friends with it. Check out the elsiepea forum.

I had a Kel-Tec P-32 but traded it for an LCP when this department said I had to carry .380 or larger.
I wish .380 was cheaper. I love this little gun. Feels better than the KT gun (smoother, more comfortable) recoil is controllable. I LIKE shooting this little gun and it is accurate. Once you're used to the trigger, it's easy to shoot.
With a Galco pocket holster, I carry it in my front left jeans pocket very often, sometimes by itself, sometimes to accompany another gun.

I bought an LCP about 6 months ago. Put a CT laser on it and about 1500 rounds through it.
I have had no malfunctions of any kind as yet. Because of it's size it is a bit hard to hang on to but practice makes it more comfortable.
I feel the CT laser is necessary for accuracy. It is such a short coupled gun that anything to improve sighting ability is a plus.
I can keep 3 inch group at 20 feet. Not particularly great but like I said, it is small and I am old so I require a bit of leeway.
I bought it specifically to carry while riding my motorcycle. It slips neatly into a vest pocket and disappears.
I got tired of trying to conceal one of my 40 cals and still be comfortable on the bike. Always felt like I had a 3 pound tumor growing out of my hip.
It's a good little gun. I like it a lot and shoot it fairly often. I have ended up carrying it everywhere because it is so easy to conceal.

I've had my LCP for nearly three years and have put probably 1,000+ rounds through it. I carry it 90% of the time, and my LCR the other 10%. I carry it the most because of its concealability, usually in an Uncle Mike's #3 pocket holster.
I practice with it regularly, trust its reliability, and have become quite proficient with it. I will say it's not a particularly fun gun to shoot, at least for me, but I didn't buy it for fun or target practice.
It takes a little getting use to as the recoil can be quite snappy, it has a lengthy trigger pull, and the stock sights are almost non existent. I've made a couple of modifications which help reduce felt recoil for me, namely, a Pachmayr Tactical grip and a Wolff 13# recoil spring. I also have a Crimson Trace laser sight.
As suggested by earlier posts, if you can try one first at a range or a friend's, do so. If you decide to get a new LCP, no problem. If you decide to get a used one, be sure it's not an early, pre-recall issue.
You can find a lot more information on this forum on the LCP by doing a search. There is also a forum dedicated almost exclusively to the LCP at Elsie Pea Forum - The #1 Ruger LCP Owner Forum and Information Source
I love my LCP and think it's a great CC gun. Let us know what you decide.

I reload so I journal the rounds. That is the only reason I know how many I have made and shot. I don't have a clue as to how many I have fired through my XD-40.
