| Ruger sr9c problems
Hello from Va. I to am having similar problems with the sr9c; I actually got the gun for the wife. The first time to the range first 50 rounds shot flawlessly then problems began. First with a major jam followed by several trigger no resets. Sent back to Ruger, went to range, out of 150 rounds had 11 trigger no resets. Next time to the range I will try using higher grain ammo if still same problem back to Ruger. Love the gun but not the problems.

Please provide more information so that other forum members can better understand the issues you are experiencing. What kind of ammo, brand, weight, etc.? Was the pistol field stripped and cleaned prior to initial use? Ruger CS comments after service? Any other pertinent info may also be helpful.
Sorry to hear of your issues. I have had my SR9c for a year, have about 2000 rounds downrange, with no, nada, zilch problems....it functions perfectly....love the fit and feel of the pistol.
YMMV,

Not cleaning seems to be the major issue for some of the problems with the SR9C.

I loved mine. My brother in-law loves it cuurently. The only issue it had was the red paint coming off of the LCI. A little Testers 1103 Indian Red applied and it is as good as new. Wonderful weapon in my opinion. I hope you get the problems worked out. Don't lose faith in the 9c or Ruger CS. I started to and then I was reminded of how much better they are than other companies. Good luck and welcome to the forum from C-bus OH.

The gun would jam and sometimes the trigger would not reset I would have to half rack the slide and then trigger would fire. Sent back to Ruger repair slip stated barrel and slide repaired trigger bar assy. replaced. Went back to range gun did not jam but out of 150 rounds had 11 trigger no resets. Ammo used Winchester, Remington, and federal all 115 grain. Gun was cleaned before each time used. Ruger suggested using higher grain ammo during break in which I plan on doing this week at the range. Thanks

I've had mine for almost a year. I probably shot 2500 rounds through it. I've had a few FTF's, but not any trigger reset problems. I typically run Sellier and Bellot through her. Its my favorite gun.

i had 150 rounds thru mine, trigger failed to reset, numerous times, and the slide didn't lock back when the mag was empty. love the concept of the gun, not the lack of confidence in it. i did send it back to arizona, they paid the feight etc. very nice customer service.waiting to get it back. i have ordered a, sig P220 carry, to conceaedl, if of course this pistol will work ,hope so, it will become my carry option. don't want something i have to hope will work when the need arises. ruger did tell me that any failure of the trigger to reset is very bad , and the pistol needs to be sent back for repair. just a heads up bro, send it back............

Put about 500 rounds through the SR9c without a problem. My SR40c is a completely different situation. I sent it home to Ruger to see what they can do with it.

What were the problems with your SR40c? I just purchased one today and I am not happy with the black nitrodox finish. The finish is worn off of the edges of the slide already, a scratch through the finish above SR40c, and the coating is blotchy and very uneven. I could not tell this was the case until I got it home and cleaned it. I am very disappointed with the fit and finish of the frame (plastic molding edges not trimmed). I own several older Rugers, but I am having second thoughts about their quality control with this one.

Consider contacting Ruger about your black SR40c. It being a new model, there may be some QA issues, though the nitrodox finish has been available on several models. BTW, I have had no issues with my stainless SR9c and SR40.
Sorry, not trying to hijack this thread and original SR9c topic....
YMMV,

Wow...I've read about quite a few problems with this little gun. I think they will work out the bugs soon enough however and I'll get one then. Thanks to all you brave souls for testing it out for me |

Thanks to all you brave souls for testing it out for me | The biggest problem that I have encountered with my stainless SR9c is that I run out of ammo too quickly. There are many of us SR9c owners that have had NO problems whatsoever. I purchased mine in June 2010, since then I have put over 2000 rounds downrange with no problems, nada, zilch... I would suspect that the silent majority of satisfied owners never feel the need to post.
YMMV,

Anyone have their 9c double fire, mine has done it twice. Was also having a lot of jams with the 17 round mag, although the last time I fired it I had no jams, but then I only had 10 rounds in it.
