| P345 vs. SR1911
I hate it when this happens. Bought my P345 almost two years ago, I wanted a Ruger, wanted a .45, and loved the feel of this one, and the price was right.
But.
If I were starting over today, I would definitely go for the SR1911.
Now...
Do I sell the P345? I have no reason to have two full size .45s. It would be a nightstand gun like the P is.
I'm just glad to have such nice choices out there.

Do you love your P345? If so keep it, and slowly save money toward the 1911 (look at it like an investment). If you aren't crazy over the P345 trade it toward the 1911.

The P-345 and 1911 are pretty much apples and oranges. About the only things they have in common is .... they are both semi-auto pistols chambered for 45 ACP.

I agree, their are few similarities. It all depends on your usage; IDPA? Carry?

My first carry gun was a Sigma 40VE. When I got the SR9c, someone asked me if I was going to sell the Sigma. What? No, I am keeping both. When the LC9 came out, I thought about it and it finally hit me that I have already been down the road of figuring out my concealed carry system. Will I ever buy another self defense weapon? Maybe, but all the compromises inherent in handguns will still be there to reevaluate. Nothing wrong with owing lots of different guns and holsters. The only thing I ask is if you have a license to carry, please carry every time you go out.

I've purchased the P345 two weeks ago...now is at Ruger but she will come back.
It's not a beautiful gun , but she has something.......I bought a CZ 97 B last week and it's a different gun...but I agree with the others...keep it...."guns don't eat and they don't need to go to college....."... |

| Wow!!!
Why would you trade a tough great shooting 345 and let the dealer give you $250 for it,if your lucky? Why not keep it,it is like getting a 345 for $250 which is a bargain for you.
I like my local dealer but not enough to give him hugely discounted trade ins. I made up my mind years ago to start keeping my guns!!!

I am certainly not rich but I have accumilated four semi-autos in 45ACP and one revolver in 45ACP. Keep them all,----- unless you are going to give me a great deal. Jim.

I agree on keeping it and saving for the 1911 if needed. When the zombie apocolypse comes you'll be glad you did.

I've kept my PF9, though it's a safe queen now. Funny, I had a dream last night that I was carrying it.
Maybe that's a sign...
IF I can swing the $650 or so street price (and that's a HUGE if) then sure, I'll pick up an SR1911. The darn thing is just too hard to resist unless reports start coming in that it's crap, which I doubt.
I only wish I'd bought Ruger stock back when I first thought about it. Anyone notice how it's gone up lately?
