Disliked the LCP as the trigger pull was very heavy and long. Traded mine for an LCR which has very good trigger pull and a pleasure to shoot. Best traded I've made with my firearms.

Anyone use these with the crimson trace? Saw one this weekend, seems like it was 430-440. I was tempted, but was also considering the BG380, several of those around in the 350-360 range.
I didn't buy either, but would like to have a pocket gun. I like the sights on the BG better and the last shot hold open. I just read about a lot of issues with that particular gun at the moment. Some to do with the laser activation. I tried 3 or 4 and the button on the right worked easily, but the left side took more force, and actual concentrated effort, taking your mind off target.
Maybe Ruger can make and SR9CCC

| Choke up on the LCP
At my house, the LCP is my wife's gun.
When she shoots it the plates ring and targets drop every time. For me - not so much.
From what I have seen, the LCP works best for someone with smaller hands. Don't get me wrong - I've got smaller than the average man's hands, but even for me the LCP can really slap my hand if I don't choke up. (choke up like on a baseball bat).
One of the most important things about small light autos with tiny grips is to get a very good grip as high up as possible.
I like the LCP - even with red-hot reloads :-)

Bought one for the first time, and took my first shots today.
All point shooting at 7 yards. sub 10 seconds of fire. i dont even attempt to use the pathetic sights on the lcp.
1 in chamber 2 mags. all rounds hit the paper.
Id say its 100% effective shooting and if you can do the same..why worry about it shooting "low".

I love this gun but is this the best it will do. I only have 150 rounds through it. Will more make a difference. Thanks Jason. | try installing a scope. you can then make all adjustments internally.

Short barreled handguns are a real challenge to shoot well. A 3 inch sight radius (the distance between the front and rear sights) doubles the effect a slight mis-aim would have with a 6 inch radius. So you really have to hold a small gun steadier than a large one, to shoot just as well. Problem is, a small gun is harder to hold steady!
Also, a short barrel will not stabilise a bullet as well as longer ones. That accounts for some of the inaccuracy of small handguns.

But to the topic--I've had my LCP for a few years, and I found that the more I fired it, the better it (ok, I) was at hitting CM at 10-15 yards. Do I use the sights? Not too much.

If the groups are consistent but off the aiming point, it's not the LCP. Down and right is often squeezing the grip tighter as you pull the trigger, a natural reaction. Once you learn to overcome this, it's a fairly accurate close-range defensive weapon.
That said, it's a hard gun to shoot accurately, but then, it's not designed as a range gun.
Keep practicing.

Old thread reborn!
I always wanted an LCP but never bought one because the trigger was not something I was willing to tolerate.
Low and behold, the LCP has been reborn with a world class trigger and descent sights - well at least by little 380 standards. The new LCP is a nose picker up close and it will give you fast torso and head out to 30 or so paces.

When ever I shoot handguns with black sites, I use those orange circle stickers that are about 2-3 inches across. It is very difficult to use black sites against a black circle on the target. Using the orange sticker, my groups are no more than 3 inches at 21 feet with the LCP. Give it a try. You may just find out how accurate you really can be with the LCP when you can see the sites on the target.

Yes it is an old thread. But it might be a good time to update the thread.
I picked up the new LCP with improved sights and trigger pull, and along with some Hogue Hybrid grips this little gun is accurate with practice. I think the new (more prominent) sights and trigger pull combine for enhanced accuracy. And the Hogue grip makes it all come together. After 200 rounds I have this LCP with nice tight groups on center mass at 7 yards. I'm so happy with hiw it shoots now that it has become my daily carry replacing my Shield .40 as it is so easy to carry. I do wear the Shield if I'm gioing into riskier territory, but I feel good with the LCP on a daily basis now. The new LCP improvements really help.
