SR9c

Back in January I bought a new SR9c. I had been reading quite a bit about this pistol and finally decided that the Ruger could work for me as a concealed carry weapon.

Today (April 1), I finally managed to get to the range with it. It has been a very long wait.

I thought that I would report here on my first shoot with the new gun in case some other forum member might be considering the Ruger SR9c.

In a word, this pistol is fantastic. I put 200 rounds of PMC 115gr. through it today without any problems. No FTFs or FTEs. Besides that, this gun is a joy to shoot. The recoil is very manageable. It is simple to get right back on the aim point after a shot, and the trigger is so good it has to be tried to be believed.

Right out of the box the Ruger was shooting in a 3" group at 30 yards. As I got used to it, the group got down to about 1-1/2". I am a mediocre pistol shooter on my best day, but this gun makes even me look good.

I have other Rugers. I have a GP100 that I like very much, but this new SR9c just became my favorite gun.

If anybody out there has been wavering about buying the SR9c, just get your fanny down to the gun shop and buy this pistol. You won't be sorry.

I pick mine up Monday.

One reason I chose this pistol was the countless reviews and posts similar to yours.

Like they say, the proof is in the pudding...

It is a great little gun. Now if only I had more time and ammo was cheaper. Enjoy

Congratulations Its a great pistol.

I've never been able to wait more than a few days between the purchase and running rounds thru the new firearm. You must have incredible will power...

Agreed.

I have always believed that all gun shops should have an indoor range and all new gun purchases should come with 50 rounds of ammo and a free range pass!

Thumbs up

Thanks for the great report. I love my stainless SR9c too!

Most folks have had good luck with their SR9c, if they field strip (including striker chamber)/clean/lube prior to the first range trip.

Enjoy your SR9c!

Man how could you wait that long... I have mine paid for and cant puck it up for another 23 days untill im 21... 9Am my lgs opens i will be walking in the door once its unlocked and walking out at 915 once my backround check clears and driving right to the range hopefully shooting it at 930 and the 15 min drive to the range is going to kill me. O and i will probably put 500+rounds down range with it along with cleaning it at the range that day... Well me and my gf will be. Reading these make this wait so much harder cant they give you a 30day 21st birthday grace period..

glad you like it cant wait until i can post my range review and pics of my first impressions
