I have carried a SR9C with one in the chamber for five years now. Never a problem.

Always carry my SR9c chambered with 10 in the magazine. Safety on.

Practice drawing, with thumb sweeping the safety off and keeping my finger outside the trigger. Best to practice with a verified empty gun. Once very comfortable practice with live ammo at outdoor range.

Edit add: this topic has come up on other threads. One thing I feel strongly about is that if your carry gun has a safety, IMO it's best to use it. On three separate ocassions, I have gone to put my pistol in the safe at night and discovered the safety had flipped sometime, someway during the course of the day. If I carried with the safety off and assumed that in a tough situation, I'd probably be puzzled (maybe dead) because the trigger wouldn't pull when I needed bang.

When I carry my SR9c it is with a round chambered and the safety off.

As long as it's in a good holster you're safe.

I used to carry a S&W Shield 9mm with one in the pipe. Despite the built-in trigger safety, I never felt completely comfortable carrying it.

Not necessarily having the muscle memory to flip off a safety in a stress situation where I would need to defend myself, I traded in the S&W for a Springfield XD Subcompact with the trigger and grip safety. I am confident in the redundant safeties on that firearm.

Regardless, because of the inherent safety of a revolver, that is what I prefer to carry on most days.

I carry my SR40c chambered, safety on. A thumb-sweep to release the safety is part of my draw. If I could not reliably and repeatably release the safety I would carry with it off.

SR9c, SR9c and LC9s all carried with a round in the chamber and safety on. Safety comes off during the draw.

This, completely.

As far as the safety, I carry with it off but train to sweep it while drawing in case it accidentally engages in the holster, it never has.

You'll get more confident as you carry more.

I have been carrying my SR9C for going on seven years now with one in the chamber. Never an issue.

Smart! If you read my post below, I can say for sure that my safety has changed positions three times over the last 4 years. Don't know how or when but it moved positions during a long day of carry - 3x.

I'm sure it can and my detent seems stiffer than some SR's I have shot.

It can be handy to have a manual safety on a CCW when I have to unholster and reholster in a cramped car going into work.
