| I bought a new Ruger LC9
Well this past week I bought the new LC9 (about 20% larger than the LCP and in 9mm).
I really like this gun. - IMHO Ruger has hit another home run.
I can and do carry it in my front jeans pocket (it fills the pocket full, but is comfortable , very comfortable in baggy cargo shorts).
I still use a DeSantis Nemesis Holster for it (only bigger).
It has good sights and I ran my 1st 100 rounds through it (all I've had time to put through it ) w/o a burp.
Better go look at one, you won't be sorry if you decide to buy one.

Very nice gun. I still have a couple stigmatisms over it though:
1. $369 is close to SR9/c territory. With the SR9/c, you get a lot more gun for the money.
2. Great concealment means hard to grip with medium hands and long fingers like me. |

I am full of envy!! My gun is on pre-order but not in yet. Let us know how it shoots and all the neat stuff like trigger pull after break in and accuracy.

I'm really starting to consider the LC9 for a summer carry. I'll have to think about it some more. Perhaps I can find one to shoot and see how I think then.
I am also thinking about the LCP. So many Rugers, so little time....
I do love my SR9c at the range. A great shooter!

I've been asked about the trigger & the LC9's accuracy.
The trigger is long and firm ... similar to my LCP.
It could be my imagination, but it seems smoother than my LCP.
As to accuracy:
It's much easier to hold.
Feels good in my hand - (you'll be impressed when you pick one up).
It actually has good sights.
That said I can get all 8 rounds into the body on the target at 21', but it is not a target pistol.
And I'm not that good a shot.
I hope this helps. |

I just got back from the range. Put another 50 rounds down the pipe still 100% the trigger is smooth and relatively light and the sights are great. I'm a pretty good shot and have no problem keeping shots inside the 9 ring of a B27 at 15 yards even shooting fast.

This shows a comparison of the LC9 to the LCP, size-wise. For those interested Ruger LC9 – A New Pocket Pistol in 9mm |

dondavis3: The ammunition in your picture is +P+. Is this what you are shooting in the LC9? Ruger states that +P can be shot sparingly but +P+ should not be used at all. Just looking out for your best interest.

techase
thanks.
Naw - I just had a box of +P+ sitting there and threw it into the picture for color.
I didn't even know that Ruger said that we can shoot +P. lol
Dah, ya think I should read the manual?
Is that what it says - we can shoot +P? |

This is what the manual says:
Note on +P Ammunition: Although the RUGERŪ LC9TM is capable of
functioning with 9mm +P ammunition, a steady diet of +P ammunition will
shorten the endurance life of the RUGERŪ LC9TM. You should never shoot 9mm
+P+ ammunition in your RUGERŪ LC9TM. There are no SAAMI or CIP pressure
limits on 9mm +P+ and use of this ammunition could result in serious injury.
