I don't think the SR9 or SR9c come new with a night sights option (I could be wrong)
Question: Are there any after market night sights available for these models and if so, which do you recommend?

Trijicon also makes night sights for the SR9c but it may only be the front post.

Thanks guys. I have a feeling my pistol collection is going to change pretty dramatically soon. Add some Americans in among these Europeans. |

If it is too dark to see what is in your opponent's
hands, then you really can't identify a threat and you
should not shoot, even if you can see your night sights.
If it is light enough to identify your opponent as a
threat, then is it also light enough to see your sights
so you don't really need night sights.
Most people are unaware that night sights by themselves
are only useful for about 20 minutes during a normal 24
hour period.
It is in that short window of time, when the sun is going
down (or coming up) and there is still enough light to
identify your target as a threat, but not enough light to
clearly see your sights, that night sights really shine
as an important addition to your weapon.
So should you have night sights on your tactical
weapons...?

Good points Gunny and those are exactly the time frames that I expect the Zombies to begin their attack.
With serious concerns about the virtues of a particular vendor and concerns of them actually having the Meprolight sights for my SR9c in stock, I ordered a set today. I've balked and declined to make purchases from the OP folks in the past due to negative feedback I've heard from others but, I have to see for myself. That said, I'll give them a fair shot (no pun intended) to see if they can deliver. If not, you'll hear about it for sure by the end of the week. OTOH, if (when) they arrive, I'll mount 'em and go straight down to my local range and follow up with a report by the end of the day.

Day 2 - Shipping status = "Item Force Backorder".... well whooda thunk? Northbrook, Il is about to be buried in snow at the moment. Ugly winter storm (Feb 1, 2011) so there's a couple days' grace I'll have to allow them.
Day 3 - Status same
Day 4 - Status same but 'Order Status' went from 'Processing' to "HOLD - QA/QC REVIEW"
Day 13 Postman just handed it to me.
On a positive note, the item was on backorder and over-due at Optics Planet (from Mepro).
A typo in their ad created an error in billing but, they corrected it with an offer to discount the item by $17.00, I accepted of course.

I recommend the CT Laser. Great for night and when you have to shoot fast.
Also, makes the SR9c look futuristic (see my avatar).

Two questions PhilC:
Is there a master on/off switch on that version...or are you getting the laser everytime you grip the gun whether you want it or not?
How often is realignment required?

No, there is no master on-off switch. That would have been a nice addition.
When I want to practice without the laser I have to purposely keep my finger light on the switch.
I only had to make a small adjustment when I first got it. After around 800 rounds I have not had to adjust it again.

Does anybody happen to know if the Heinie 8 sights will be compatible with the SR9c? Sights were off of a Glock 19. Just curious. Thanks!
