Recoil Spring Guide rods for P series

I have an older p-94 with the same type guide rod as my P-90. Thsre are aluminum and will carry grit jsut like an aluminum cleaning rod. Does anyone make a stainless steel guide rod for these guns. I was told by someone who makes them for beretta and sig as aftermarkets that the radiauses are too difficult for him to do.

I am not aware of anyone making steel guide rods for the swinging link p94, but it would be a good idea. I try to keep mine as clean and grit free as possible.

Don't apply any lube to them. Go to your automotive supply store and get a can of dry spray lubricant for the spring and dust the rod with talc(gold bond)...........no more grit.

I have a Firedragon, stainless steel, captured guide rod in my P90. I like it.

I recently put a Firedragon in my old P-85. I have taken it the range once since installation, seems to work great.

I'll just note that Ruger used two different style recoil rods & barrel lugs on some of the P Series.. One has a nipple on the end the other doesn't..
The early style had the nipple & smaller lug "Bottom Slide in Pic"
The later style had the flat end guide rod & larger barrel lug "Top Slide in Pic"

Tip or without Tip

Are the guide rods interchangeable? Those with tips and those without tips...

I purchased my P89DC used and the end of the guide rod was scared up pretty bad, I looked for a replacement and could only find the rods without the tip, my P89 guide rod has the tip so I just polished it up the best I could.
