LCP II lockback issue

So I bought this LCP II shortly after christmas and already having some issues with it.

I was having failure to eject and on last round it would lock, but only half way back on the stop (see picture). When it does this, you can slide it back and lock it on the stop, but you can't release the slide at all until you drop the mag.. at which point it slams home.

Sent it in and they said they put 20 rounds through it with no malfunction. They did replace the magazine latch spring, slide stop, and trigger pivot pin.

I've not had a chance to get it back out to the range, but it does seem to cycle through and eject properly by doing it manually. Still have the issue with the slide lock though.

Anyone else having this issue?

1. As for the FTE; try a different ammo. The smaller the gun, the finickier it is on ammo. These especially do not like steel cased
2. As for the failure to lock back; are you only using the LCP II mags? The original LCP mags will work fine in the gun, but will not lock the slide back

I went through 3 LCP's and on my fourth. Mine all love Steel cased ammo. I would not own the New LCP ll. Get the Gen 2's while they are still available.

My wife has an LCP and hers does not like the steel. Just shows that individuals exist with the same model

I does not look like it's the slide lock that has it locked back, i would take it apart and see if there is a bur on the rails and also look at recoil rod/spring and make sure all is well and make sure it's in correctly when putting it back together, mine does not do that.

I hadn't thought of a bur on the rail. I assumed it was something do to with the magazine because if I take something (pen) and press down on the plastic part of the magazine (follower?) then it will release.

I''ve sent Ruger a message, see if they'll send me a new mag to try. I don't want to send it in again if I can keep from it. At the same time, I'm not confident enough in my abilities to either know what to look for or what to do if I do find something wrong.

I have a prett gnarly burr on my slide, but luckily it doesnt effect operation. You can also try taking the mag apart and cleaning it out. Maybe some crap is stuck in there.

Quick followup. I had Ruger send me a new mag and it seems to have fixed that problem. I have to push the mag release to get the mag in, but have been doing that a few times and it seems to be loosening up.. likely just needs to be broken in.

looking at the old mag vs the new. The only difference I see is that the metal on the new one is beveled(or chamfered) around the top (where the follower sits when mag is empty)

can anyone help me out here. I'm having trouble finding the help forum. I can't seem to post a pic or link now. It's telling me I don't have enough posts. Yet when I started this thread I posted a pic, and it was my first post on the forums.
