My LwtCMD was great up until a few weeks ago when it started to have feeding issues. Still working on that issue.

I would like to add a heavier recoil spring but dont know what the current spring is or how heavy I can go, other than that I like it as is

The only mod I've done to my SR1911 was to get the fiber optic front sight from the shopRuger website and have that professionally installed. It really helps my sight placement.

Otherwise, it's been routine cleaning/maintenance only with one recoil spring change out at 1,700 rounds. The replacement recoil spring is also from the shopRuger website and is rated at 18.5 pounds, if I remember correctly. Dirt cheap at $2 apiece.

Stang,
Where did you get those gold screws? They're cool.

Every time I look at them there are so many choices, that I just don't get anything!

Good luck, Greg
I agree. I keep running the same grips as the choices are endless.

Added a Dawson front sight and that's about it. The OEM sight wasn't terrible, just my eyes.....

Hammer and sear job(I do my own), C&S light sear spring, Hogue grips, magwell of your choice, Novak .080 fiber optic front in red, black out the rear white dots with paint and new long trigger with adjustable wings for take up. Also stone and polish all moving areas.
Just what I like in mine. I shoot at least 100 rds/week and IDPA and do love this gun
