Viridian laser for the SR9?

Anyone using a Viridian laser on their SR9? I bought mine back in March and a flier was included in the case advertising a half off sale on the Viridian, it must be purchased by Sept. 30, 2010. Im just looking for any first hand opinions as to whether its worth the money, functionality, any pros or cons. I have the Crimson Trace laser grips on my SP101 and my 68 year old eyes absolutely love it.
Appreciate any comments.

Never heard of it before. a lot of people I know here use the Crimson Trace grips. They love them, but very spendy. I don't use them myself.

I'm sure someone will be along before long to help you though. I just answered this thread to let you know you weren't being ignored.

I purchased a Viridian with my SR9. While the product seems to be a very well built I just do not have any practical use for it. Sure I use it at the range every so often but I seem to shoot better without it. It is a little bulky and the holster they offer with it is horrible and I do not suggest buying the holster if you decide to purchase the laser. It has a constant on and two other strobe modes. It has ambidextrous on/off button. The laser fits on the weapon very snug. Some think it fits to tight and they have trouble getting it off but I think it fits perfect and is not difficult to remove. Holds zero in my experience with it. It comes with a extra tactical release. The original release just sticks out a bit, but in my opinion does not need to be changed. I would highly suggest this laser if #1 You can find a holster for the gun with the laser on.(If you plan to carry it) #2 You have a practical use for the laser. It is a great product I just do not use it as much as I thought I would. If you have any questions about operation or anything else feel free to ask away.

GunsAreGood ---- I appreciate your comments. As you indicated the unit does appear to be very bulky and I can see now how finding a suitable carry holster might become an issue. I think I will hold off on ordering, besides my SP101 with the CT grips is my primary carry.

i like the the laserlite rear mounted laser simply for the fact that it will fit your holster, even though it is a little ugly i think i would opt for something like this.
that's just me though

Hitides

You are probably making a good decision on holding off. Glad I could help.

I bought a post-recall SR-9 with the green Viridans laser for $350 at a pawn shop. It was a good buy, I never actually shot the gun but did play around with the combo in the house. I liked how it had different settings and thought it was a good home security type setup. I traded the rig at a gun show for something else but still think that laser would be ideal for a HD type weapon.

i like the viridian over the laserlyte rear laser. the laserlyte, to me, seems ugly. ive used a viridian before, the one with a flashlight and laser. if you can find a holster that fits. its a good choice. thats the main downside though.
