LCP II Owners Poll

I really like the trigger on the LCP II, but have read many threads/posts with owners having issues.

I really like the trigger on this pistol, especially after the purchase of the LC9s Pro's, my son and I purchased, they are flawless.

I'm looking for owner only comments on this pistol.

If you have experienced problems, please post the problem. If no problems please post that as well. Also include number of approximate rounds through pistol.

I'm trying to decide the percentage of issues these pistols have, and I know about the "forum" issue as well, where only the "problems" are reported.

Thanks

As I've said before, no issues. Approx 100 rounds total. Shot Winchester FMJ and Hornady American Gunner XTP. Hope to put a few more rounds thru it this week.

100 rounds yesterday with no issues. I think I'll wait to "vote", though, until I've put another 100-150 though the pipe.

I fired 102 rounds through my new LCP II yesterday with no issues whatsoever. Ammo was a mix of Perfecta FMJ, American Gunner XTP, and Ruger ARX. I tried both 6 and 6+1. Two-handed, strong-side and weak-side. No stoppages of any kind. I'm thoroughly impressed.

I have large hands and I need to work on trigger discipline on a gun this small. I was shooting at 4" and 6" bullseyes taped to a human silhouette target at 7 yards. Not all of my rounds landed in the bullseye, but all 102 went into the silhouette. Sometimes the trigger guard slapped my trigger finger.

I also have an SR40C, and shot the two pistols back-to-back. There is definitely less recoil with the LCP II (I didn't know what to expect form a gun that light), but it's every bit as snappy as the SR40C, if that makes sense.

Also, Ruger ARX has slightly less recoil than FMJ and the American Gunner ammo, both in 380ACP and 40S&W.

Had some issues with Sig ammo early on, but no problems after switching ammo.

No issues with ball or SD ammo. Have not tried Sig ammo, lots of bad reports with Sig ammo in LCP's. I recommend holster carry only with the LCP II.

Have twin LCP IIs. No issues with either with any ammo. Love the trigger, the sights (with paint), and the locking slide. Both shoot straighter than I can. I always have one with me or within reach. Previously have had P3ATs and a Bodyguard--no more looong triggers for me.

Well my poll has been up for a while now. Not many responses, would have thought more people had purchased them by now. Maybe they're just not on these forums. At any rate, those that did respond (on both forums I have this poll ) are pretty much split 50/50 on results.

Some work well without issues, others have issues.

Guess I'm going to wait a bit before purchasing, a 50/50 chance of a good or bad pistol is still too high for me. Especially for a CCW.

Seriously, you really believe that your unscientific poll accurately indicates a 50/50 chance?

Had my first failure to feed with Geco FMJ ammo after 150 rounds. It had been perfect shooting Winchester FMJ and the couple of mags of Critical Defense and HSTs that put thru it. A rap on the slide took care of the FTF. I purchased more of the Winchester FMJ and if I continue having FTF issues I will try heavier recoil springs. I still consider this to be a reliable pistol.

mndoggie, I am amazed at how you post exactly what I am thinking, but always in a nicer way than I would have written it.

Quick update:

My LCP II had functioned flawlessly at the range, but a few days later I noticed that the slide stop spring no longer worked. The slide stop itself worked and would perform the last round hold open, but the stop had to be manually pushed down to release the slide. Pulling back on the slide (full mag or no mag) would not release the stop.

Ruger replaced the slide stop. I should have it back next week.

LCP II's are hard to find in my area. Local Gun store has not had one in a couple months and Cabela's has not had one this week, not sure when they sold their last one.
