p89s going up in price?

I used to see these guns go for around 225 or even 199 all day long. Now I see them around 399 to 450. Is it just me or are prices going up on these?

It seems that the longer they are out of production, the more the price edges up. With the parts being removed from the website, it has probably raised awareness and therefore demand and now the price.

Antiques usually go up in value.

My high volume LGS gets therm in trade fairly often. They sell for $2-300 depending on condition, number of mags, etc.

One note: Beware of taking something like GunBroker asking or minimum bid prices as selling values. I see many of these re-list many times without selling.

Agreed. I look at my local Armslist daily. There is a KP90 with an asking price of $500. That doesn't mean they are worth $500 now

You got that right Tacky ... mine are here to stay ...

However if you ever wanted to part ways with one or two I would hope you'd give me first shot ...

Now that I have collected one piece from each model i'm getting restless for something else. The P89x's aren't out there ...

Patience is a virtue my friend. Never forget the saying good things come to those who wait. Sooner or later you will find what you seek.

I would definately give you one of the first shots at it, but its not likely I will ever sell mine. It took me too long to acquire them. . You know we both value our collections.

I paid $300 for a P85 a couple of months ago but that included shipping from an in-state pawn shop. The pistol's finish is not perfect - lots of minor scratches and marks - but it's clean and functions properly.

Depends upon condition

Stainless, decocker, excellent, I'd say at least $350. Most any nice P series brings $300 in my LGS here, about $50 more on Gun Broker. Factor in shipping and maybe ffl there. I just passed on a like NIB P94 on GunBroker, twenty minutes from my house, ending at $352. (Passed due to A) Was buying a GP100 next day and B) Getting a bit leary of no 94 recoil springs available). Springs may be why the P89's are going up a tad. May not be an issue but, a lot of rounds down the road..... And, honestly, where are you going to get an all metal, built like a tank 9mm for $350 these days? Maybe a used Witness?

They do show up on GunBroker every so often, but most of the sellers don't know to call is a P89x (or more correctly a KP89x).

I do have an extra .30 Luger barrel and recoil spring sitting around here. I should sell that to someone with a KP89 to make a pseudo-KP89x.
