| SR9c light strikes just began...Help!
Range day today, SR9c and my CZ P-01 (aka 75 D Compact). The P-01 shot fine; forget it. This is a Ruger problem, I think.
My Ruger had light primer hits. Now I have fired, since new, approximately 250 care-free rounds, both WWB and Federal Champion.
Had a clean gun to start with today. This is all about my Ruger... Shot about 30 WWB, then had 3 of 10 light hits with WWB. Then 20 Federal just fine, then next had 1 of 10 WWB light hit.
I took the gun apart when I got home. The gun, except for the bore, is still clean, the striker channel is nice and clean, as is the striker. But the Mag disconnect puts so much spring pressure on the striker that I had difficulty moving it manually back and forth to "show" the striker (0.039" protrusion) coming out of the primer hole.
I removed the mag disconnect. Ah...freedom at last. And I'm going to shoot it this way for a while and see if that is the problem that we've been hearing about. I have more faith in WWB than to think that their product has that high of a failure rate. I may be wrong.
If it "appears" to be the mag-disconnect, then I can't carry it for PD without exposing myself to liability for purposely removing a factory safety item. I'll let you know... Here are the pix: light hits and my "normal" primer hits with drag lines...
Would appreciate any and all comments. I would really like to keep this gun and use it, with the darned mag-disco, for CCW. Thanks

That's scary...Mine has gotten lined out, but, I've only put about 225 rounds through it.

I had this issue with WWB. Have since started using Blazer ammo. I've probably shot 600+ rounds of Blazer without one issue.

Any updates Sonnytoo? I shot mine this weekend, had one light strike in 70 rds. I'm thinking that I need to remove my mag disconnect as well. Maybe that will cure the problem.

I contacted Winchester. I sent them the fired cases as well as the light hit cartridges. They will send me a letter from their lab, and have given me permission to pass on that info to all of you.
My SR9c is back at Ruger for the light hits and some (new) failures to reset the trigger. I am thinking that it's gonna get better when someone can figure all this stuff out.
What I do know...and was entirely wrong before...is that the striker and striker channel were still completely clean AFTER my time at the range was finished.
Again, if I learn anything new, I will report it here.

Sonnytoo, when did you send yours back to Ruger and how long do they expect to have it? I have also sent mine back fro the failure of the trigger to reset.

Got my sr9c back yesterday from Ruger. The note said they replaced the trigger reset bar and striker assy. and then test fired it 60 rnds. with no failures. So I Loaded up the 17 rnd mag. with blazer brass 115gr ammo.(same ammo used before I sent it off) After the first four shots the trigger failed to reset, not to good, reset the trigger, six more shots, reset failure, getting angry at this point, reset trigger & six more shots , reset failure, . I'm hating this gun at this point in time. Come inside and called a gun guru I know and after a long discussion, he said to try a different brand of ammo. To make a long story short, I went today and got some Winchester sxz9 115 gr. ammo. NOT ONE single failure of the trigger to reset. This gun preformed flawless this afternoon. I'm so glad that I tried different ammo before I called Ruger back and made an a$$ out of myself. They really did great in the CS dept. Very quick and proff. service from them. Hope the SR9C keeps doing as well as it did this afternoon
