i actually wanted an sr-9 when they first came out but all of the problems with barrel peening and light strikes kinda keep me gun-shy.i have owned a p345 and p-95 that never gave any problems whatsoever.
maybe with the lcp it could be "Lots of ComPlaints". how can a company that built such great guns for so many years start selling guns with all of these problems.is it a completely different company since the old man died? it seems to me that is the case.

It is alot different company since Bill passed. They are listening to the market more now.
I wish there weren't so many problems though. I have always considered Rugers to be tough and reliable guns. I like the SR9 alot and I want one. The price is very good on them. However, there does seem to be alot of problems so I am holding off right now.

I'd have to call mine "Sofar Reliable" as I've shot over 900 rounds without a single problem.

All I can judge by is my experience and the only issues I have had with a ruger is shotshells (hulls reloaded multiple times) slipping past the extractors on my Red Label and the rear sight bottoming out on my SBH and it still shot high (Had DT'ed and mounted a red dot).

You know what I've always found interesting? My own experience, and the experience of those I know in person, never reveals all those problems that I see reported on the internet.

Well I am going to have to say Surely Reliable 9mm. I guess I am one of the lucky one's (knock on wood) because I have had great luck and have not experienced anything that was a major issue. The only hiccup I ever had was the first 100 rounds or so the SR9 did not return to battery maybe two or three times, but with some rounds down range it worked itself right out. I have been fairly impressed with mine.

How bout Sturm Ruger 9 ??
I have one and love it, no visible or physical issues to date, about 500 rounds through her.
I reload for it and as soon as the empty casing hits bthe ground I grab it and reload it for another go, fun gun to shoot. I too would be interested in a sr40 or 45 !!

I own the Ruger SR-9, LCP and the LCR. Not one minutes problem with any of these Ruger's. None.
