Thanks for the info...I don't like when the end of the gun extends beyond the holsters coverage area....would rather keep the hot slide areas contained within the leather/kydex. Will have to see how it goes.

It seems well-sized for the compact. If I was cutting it for the full sized, I would maybe make it an 1/8 - 1/4" longer. However, it's unlikely that any part of the slide or barrel would touch you. It pretty much stops at the edge of the leather.

It's much, much harder to quickly dump a magazine into the A-zone of a target at 5 yards with something the size of an LC9 as it is with something the size of an SR9c or RAP9c. And after two or three boxes of shooting at the range, you're hand isn't as happy either. If guns aren't fun to shoot, they just don't get shot much... which isn't great for a carry gun.
I could not agree more! I tried to like that LCP but it just beat the hell out of my hands and it got sold in a hurry!

I just got the American 9mm full size and have only put about 100 rounds through it and love it! Great shooting gun right out of the box and being a lefty is suits me really well.

I think it's a great looking gun also....apparently others disagree

I have both the Crossbreed and AlienGear IWB holsters for the full sized RAP 9mm and both fit my RAP 9mm Compact also. Both are quite well made but I personally find the AlienGear to be more comfortable. The AlienGear kydex shells are also swappable so that you can buy additional ones for different guns. The compact is much easier to conceal than the duty size.

Quick Review

I have worn the CrossBread Holster with the Ruger A9 in Comapct size for a week or so now...very impressed with the clips gripping power as compared to a few other brands I've used with various other guns.
The holster is as comfortable as any other...the trigger guard covers the trigger well...I just wish the kydex was another quarter inch longer to cover the end of the slide.

1st post on the Ruger Forum.

I have a New American Compact 9mm on the way to my FFL.

I shot the full size a year ago and fell in love. Accurate little guy!

Finally put hands on the compact the other day at my LGS and it felt great. Good size. Excellent trigger.

Anyway just wanted to get your thoughts. Anyone CCW this yet? Holster options?

Lets hear it!

Welcome from Washington. Seems a little big for concealed carry unless all you are talking about is coat or shirt tail cover. In any event good luck

I don't find it too big for ccw but I guess it depends upon the person. I carried the SR40 for years as it was the only handgun I owned for the first few years. Generally have had either the SigSauer P320C and/or the M&P Shield on for the last couple of years and on occasion the FullSize Ruger A9 since gutting it last year.
I was really happy with the FullSize A9 so when the Compact came out i grabbed one and now it's become my primary carry.
I've had a local guy make me a holster for the A9 and the Compact fits it nicely as well...it's similar to the Alien Gear style but in a carbon-fiber looking material. I've also ordered a Clinger Holster for it as i like the one I have for the P320C. The CrossBreed is very comfortable as well as i stated previously...really impressed with the spring clips strength.

Due to my bad back, I'm having problems with the RAP Compact being to heavy for me to carry, but it shoots really nice.
