I use Slip 2000 SLiP2000 - Lubricant Information
I have to admit that I have never smelled Hoppe's #9.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on the acquisition of the SR9. You ask a simple question with no simple answer but thousands of honest opinions. I am not being sarcastic here; there are a lot of great products out there and I am including links to several threads posted on this forum which should give you all the information you need to make a comfortable decision. I have read all of these responses at one time or another and these threads contain some great information from some really knowledgeable folks. I hope this helps but please ask any questions not answered in these responses! Eezox? To Grease or Not Slide Rail Lube? gun cleaner Ballistol: The One-Stop, Non-Toxic German Wonder Fluid? Lampman .... First of all, welcome to the forum. Secondly, while there are many good options out there (Eezox, FP10, etc.), my personal favorite CLP is Weapons Shield. Good luck with your decision!

Ask 100 people and you'll get 100 different answers.
I use Gun Scrubber and Royal Purple Gun Oil or Remington Synth Film.
Brake Parts Cleaner works well in pinch too, and it's cheaper than any gun cleaning product. |

I use Rem oil, then I put a small drop of Hopps on the rails of my SR9.

Just for fun, I'll add another to the list: TW25B grease ($7.92/12cc) and MC2500 oil ($7.95/2oz).
Good, but very expensive. An 8oz bottle of the oil is $42).

I like FP-10 for oil. I use a white lithium grease for the rails and other"high traffic" areas.
I like Shooters Choice or Benchrest 9 for solvents.
