I want to see it w/ the Kel Tec and Glock 26 to get a better idea of it's size. So far, I like what I see, but i'm not bringing out my wallet yet. Any idea on pricing? I'm going to guess in the upper 3's-$400?

| If this is the latest from Ruger I just don't see the need to release a smaller version of an already flawed weapon. Is it just me or do I constantly see threads on this forum with people that have problems with this weapon?I guess I was hoping for more... |

Now that they've got the 9c version out of the way, can we skip .40 and go straight to .45? |

Okay guys, help me out... I love Rugers. They are almost solely the only firearms I buy now. Of all of the "new" guns they could have introduced, I personally couldn't have been more disappointed. While i'm willing to give it some style points over a Glock, can any SR9 owners speak highly enough of this weapon to recommend I buy one? I have been thinking about a 9mm, because I don't currently have one. As an owner of a Glock that has been FLAWLESS, I have been leaning in that direction. Also been considering an XD. Can anyone here tell me this new SR9 would be the way to go?????

When it comes to the SR9, the Glock wins hands down. Being a new civilian shooter, the SR9 was bulky, choppy and sometimes unreliable, whereas the Glock (19) was a treat to shoot, that was both accurate and consistent.

BOO HISS to Ruger for the compact SR-9. This gun is not at all what we were all hoping for. The market for this gun is small at best. Glock, Springfield XD, and Kahr have the market flooded with quality compact 9mm handguns. Why would Ruger even think this would be a hit? Not available in other calibers like other compacts, 9mm only? Why not build a broader platform with more options? Heres to a year without something fresh from ruger.

While the SR9c may be a bit of a disapointment for many cranky carmudgeon Ruger enthusiasts including me (I was hoping for a 1911 ), I think that it may well be attractive for many in the younger market place and for those first time owners who may be considering a compact Glock or XD for CCW (It's much better looking then either one IMHO). With a MSRP of $525, it will be interesting to see what it will actually sell for (I'm guessing around $450). My bet is that the initial demand will be significantly higher then what many here expect (guess we'll see if Ruger did a good market analysis).

I have an SR9, and unlike some folks, mine hasn't had any issues, and I'm glad to see a SR9c model, and yes I'll be getting one. I for one think they are very good pistols an really hate to see and hear all the bad mouthing they get. I think this one will be a good seller for Ruger, and I like the path they are taking.

I think the SR9 is an attractive gun. It "fits" most folks just fine. It sells for less than comparable striker fired poly handguns. Most folks including those who sell it don't know of any problems with the gun. Plus it's American made and Ruger has a good reputation. I bet that a whole bunch of SR9's have been sold and that the SR9c will sell well too.

The SR9c just looks too much like a Hi-Point for me, but who knows, it may be a great gun that's built to last and has very few problems.
