Promag 6 round LCP magazine w/extension grip!

I bought one of these bad boys on a blind buy. I just wanted to save a bit on a Ruger mag (which are made in Italy btw (I have no problem with foreign-made parts or products - I drive a Honda)) so I decided to get a mag from the much maligned ProMag for the good 'ole USA. This 6-round mag w/extension worked great. It feels a bit different from the Ruger mags (I have 2 Ruger mags) when inserting it, but it does the job well and it costs about 5 dollars less than the standard Ruger mag. You have to push in the Ruger mags with a bit of force to get them fully into the LCP. The ProMag magazine slides in smoothly. There was something else "different" I noticed while shooting but I can't remember. Anyway, I highly recommend it. I do need to mention that I only put a total of 14 rounds through it so I didn't perform an extensive stress test.

YOMV...but I stay away from Promag mags like the plague. I have 3 different ones for my P89 and they ALL have FTF problems. While your Promag mag is fine for practice, in my opinion for a carry gun, don't trust anything but a factory mag that you haven't shot extensively to proof test.

Mecgar mags are factory mags for Ruger BTW, they make them in Italy for Ruger.

Understood ...

Next time I'll put a while box of ammo through the Promag. If it can handle 50-100 rounds with no problem that's good enough for me.

I put another 40 or so rounds through this promag magazine. I used Monarch .380 hollow points and round nose. I even alternated the rounds in the magazine. Absolutely no problems. No fail to feeds, fail to ejects, or fail to fire. I think this is an excellent magazine for the LCP.
